The PlayStation 4 launched in November 2013, while the Nintendo Switch launched worldwide in March 2017. Therefore, the holiday periods for the two consoles do not lineup, which is why there are big increases and decreases.

October 2022 is the 68th month that the Nintendo Switch has been available for. During the latest month, the gap grew in favor of the Switch by just 152,528 units when compared to the PS4 during the same timeframe.

In the last 12 months, the Switch has outsold the PS4 by 3.78 million units. The Switch is currently ahead of the PS4 by 16.78 million units.

The 68th month on sale for the Nintendo Switch is October 2022, while for the PlayStation 4 it is June 2019. The Switch has sold 114.28 million units, while the PlayStation 4 sold 97.50 million units during the same timeframe.

The PlayStation 4 did not reach current Switch sales until month 86 where it sold 114.37 million units.

The PlayStation 4 has sold 117.01 million units through October 2022. The Nintendo Switch is currently 2.73 million units behind the lifetime sales of the PlayStation 4.

If Switch sales are down less than 16.5% year-on-year in November it should outsell the PS4 by the end of November. If not it would outsell the PS4 in early December.

The DS launched in November 2004 in North America, December 2004 in Japan, and March 2005 in Europe, while the Nintendo Switch launched worldwide in March 2017. Therefore, the holiday periods for the two consoles do not lineup, which is why there are big increases and decreases.

In the last 12 months, the DS has outsold the Switch by 3.53 million units. The DS is ahead of the Switch by 13.61 million units.

The 68th month on sale for the Nintendo Switch is October 2022, while for the DS it is June 2010. The Switch has sold 114.28 million units, while the DS sold 127.88 million units during the same timeframe.

The Nintendo DS sold 154.02 million units lifetime. The Nintendo Switch is currently 39.74 million units behind the lifetime sales of the DS.

Gonna be strange once the PS4 to Switch charts are over, but it's gonna be cool to see the conclusion.
Gameboy next, though I personally think #3 is where of all time is where it will stop, though there's no shame in that, still a fantastic achievement.

In the last 12 months, the Xbox Series X|S has grown its lead over the Xbox 360 by 2.05 million units. The Xbox Series X|S is currently ahead by 5.11 million units.

The Xbox Series X|S has sold 17.78 million units in 24 months, while the Xbox 360 sold 12.66 million units. Month 24 for the Xbox Series X|S is October 2022 and for the Xbox 360 is October 2007.

In October 2022, the gap grew in favor of the combined sales of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S when compared to the aligned launch of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the last month by 0.14 million units.

In the last 12 months, the PS4 and Xbox One has sold 2.51 million units more than the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are currently ahead by 0.11 million units.

The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in their first 24 months sold a combined 43.06 million units, while the PS4 and Xbox One have sold a combined 42.95 million units. Month 24 is October 2022 for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, while for the PS4 and Xbox One it is October 2015.

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have sold a combined 168.29 million units after 108 months.

The DS Hardware total will still be hard to beat but after it's sixth full year sales tanked and this is where switch can make up some ground.

It comes down to the legs of the Switch. The gap will be closer than it is now by the end, but hard to say if it has enough to surpass the DS (and PS2) by the end.
