I think many games are just overcomplicated nowadays with a load of mechanics that arent necessarily enjoyable. Sometimes I cant even continue a game I stopped playing some time ago because the mechanics and controls are too complicated to remember 😅

We need a return to AA games. Games like Hi Fi Rush. I'm glad Xbox's portoflio isn't all hyper realistic games. Xbox got the best variety in first party.

Also need less open world games with insane padded content. It's just not necessary I feel. Ubisoft the biggest offender, and look where they are at now.

In a massive report on the decision, the CMA revealed that some major publishers report their AAA games can cost over $1 billion to make.

According to the report, AAA games that are greenlit now with potential releases in 2024 or 2025 typically receive development budgets of $200 million or higher — Call of Duty has already surpassed $300 million in development costs alone, and the next Grand Theft Auto title will likely require a development budget of $250 million or more. When considering marketing costs, this number can jump to over $1 billion, with one large studio reporting that a major franchise's development cost $660 million and marketing cost nearly $550 million.

These costs demonstrate a significant increase from five years ago, when most AAA games had budgets between $50 and $150 million.

💀💀💀

I highly doubt those figure unless they are lifetime estimate of some service game and include marketing cost and cloud service cost.

$1B is 500 worker with a 200k for 10 years. Is their a game that was devloped under such condition?

More then likely the CMA where feed exceptional data without proper contextualization.

  • Ubisoft Market cap: $3.59 Billion
  • Sega Market Cap: $4.33 Billion

Ubisoft fucking collapsed. I was looking up other stuff in my post about why I don't think Microsoft will abandon consoles anytime soon and also noticed how little Ubisoft made anyway.

By Revenue & Profit - Best Years Since 2009.

1. Activision Blizzard - Net Income ($2.6bn) & Revenue ($8.8bn).
2. Electronic Arts - Net Income ($3.0bn) & Revenue ($6.9bn).
3. Take Two - Net Income ($589m) & Revenue ($3.5bn).
4. Ubisoft - Net Income ($163m) & Revenue ($2.5bn).

Only a few days left till Redfall are you hyped up at all? Or just gonna play it cause its GP and Arkane?

I'm excited to check it out. It might not be a Prey or Dishonored, but I expect a very solid game.

I’ll check out Redfall on GP at launch as long as I finish Va-11 Ha-11a and A Short Hike before then. If the game is excellent and really hits a sweet spot I’ll likely buy the Bite Back upgrade.

Ride The Chariot || Games Complete ‘24 Edition

I got Redfall pre-loaded via GP! It’ll be fun to experience some solid open world FPS gameplay with Arkane’s signature worldbuilding

Didn't Halo Infinite cost 500m$ ?
