Well at least she's trying. She clearly learned that she was being made head of Microsoft Gaming about a month ago and immediately started playing games since she never had before (at least on Xbox). 28 games played in a month, over 10k Gamerscore, some she clearly liked and played a good bit of, like Minecraft, Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5, and it looks like she played through 4 shorter, story heavy/walking simulator games, A Short Hike, Gone Home, Firewatch, and What Remains of Edith Finch. Others she seemed to drop almost immediately, like RDR2, Control, Cities Skylines, and Hogwarts Legacy.

Today she asked people what their top 3 favorite games are, looking for more suggestions of games to play, and I saw she said she is trying Borderlands 2 today.

She already said in her opening message:

"Gaming now lives across devices, not within the limits of any single piece of hardware. As we expand across PC, mobile, and cloud, Xbox should feel seamless, instant, and worthy of the communities we serve. We will break down barriers so developers can build once and reach players everywhere without compromise."

Responding to all these people so openly on twitter when she's just started probably isn't the best idea. Obviously she is trying to endear herself to the community but she probably doesn't understand how insane the gaming community is at reposting and tearing apart every single little thing she will do.

True, but she also said in her opening statement that she wanted to go back to putting Xbox console gamers first, so maybe she is considering timed Xbox exclusivity before porting to PC and other consoles at least. She sure needs to do something, right now there is so little reason to buy an Xbox.

I'll take the wait and see approach.

She can say what sounds good all she wants. But considering the amount of money Xbox is making as a third party publisher, returning back to exclusivity is simply never going to happen (and likely not a decision she has any power to make anyway). 2026 is the mythical “this is the year” software wise we’ve been waiting all generation (and longer) for. It’s what she does next year and beyond that’ll she’ll be judged on imo. But I’d not take what she says on Twitter as anything other than saying what sounds good out loud.

Yup.

Same. Over the initial shock now.

Greg Miller on Phil Spencer's retirement - "I've been passed something that again reiterates to me, i'm not going to read it, this was not planned"

It is unusual for someone's retirement to be announced on such short notice. Despite Phil saying he discussed this in the fall.

No way are they gonna make games exclusive to their platform.

Better to make a Xbox/Microsoft gaming service like Steam and be its introduction in the next Xbox but also make it available for Windows devices.

They practically have one, just need to improve upon it.

Could be some changes to it like time exclusives, some games stay exclusive; or third party exclusives or no change at all..

Anyway forgot to mention this
