Man I don't care about the Series X digital, I want them to reveal the rumoured handheld already, Lol.

Do we think the handheld (if true) will release at the same time as the powerful console or separately?

Handheld first, this generation. Super Xbox and new 2nd handheld together for next generation. Maybe?

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

Guess Halo is not coming to PS5

Seriously? This could actually happen?

If so please let three of them be Rare Replay, Killer Instinct, and a new Banjo-Kazooie in the style of the N64 games. And maybe this could lead to the original Diddy Kong Racing being on Switch.

Article requires a subscription to view, but assuming this is about the 4 Xbox games going to other platforms, insiders say they are Sea of Thieves, Pentiment, Grounded, and HiFi Rush.

Boo!!

I also think Xbox could advertise Game Pass better, it's anecdotal evidence but barely anyone in my family knows what it is, ranging from my nieces and nephews who play on consoles to their parents, and they are subbed to Netflix/Disney+, I had to explain to my parents what Game Pass was multiple times, also what Gold was changing into (GP Core) although may not the target audience because they said there's no point because they (the kids) rarely play their Xbox (always on Roblox on mobile, Lol).

But I also don't think I've ever seen a Game Pass ad on TV and not like a game being advertised and at the end it says "on Game Pass" but an advert dedicated solely to advertising Game Pass, they should do it after ABK adds all its shit, like, an advert going through all the COD titles on Game Pass, and more! EA Access, Fifa, Mass Effect, Battlefield, plus XGS, plus Zenimax, etc. Just feels like (to me) they've barely advertised Game Pass to the general consumer and it's largely been aimed towards the dedicated audience thus far.

Nate says there's a Banjo in development.

Fantastic assuming it plays more like the first two and not the fourth game.

Seems Bandai cancelled a number of titles in development too after their poor results.

We have also decided to discontinue the development of at least five other titles under development and recorded a loss on disposal of these titles.

New stricter rules for green lighting titles are In place

I hope Tales series isnt affected....Xillia, Graces, Eternia, Abyss, Legendia and Phantasia all need modern ports.

Palworld lost many players:

Palworld devs answer:

"This emerging 'Palworld has lost X% of its player base' discourse is lazy, but it's probably also a good time to step in and reassure those of you capable of reading past a headline that it is fine to take breaks from games," Pocketpair's community community manager, who goes by 'Bucky' online, says on Twitter. "You don't need to feel bad about that. Palworld, like many games before it, isn't in a position to pump out massive amounts of new content on a weekly basis. New content will come, and it's going to be awesome, but these things take a little bit of time."

Bucky rightfully notes that "there are so many amazing games out there to play; you don't need to feel guilty about hopping from game to game. If you are still playing Palworld, we love you. If you're no longer playing Palworld, we still love you, and we hope you'll come back for round 2 when you're ready."

It was obvious that it would drop. There's too many survival games and way more MP oriented games both already available and coming.

Reason #1000 why Microsoft is experimenting with multiplatform, why Sony is moving harder into PC.

Yep, multiplatform is the way to go.

I'm hearing rumors in my head that Sony and MS will team up to launch the next gen as one platform, splitting R&D costs evenly, and splitting hardware loss/profits evenly (if and when it is ever sold for a profit) so that both companies have an easier time selling both hardware and software.

Because it will be co-owned by them and because Nintendo is not part of it, it won't be considered a monopoly.

Would never happen lol

So, why do development costs explode so much? Wasn't all this stuff about the new Unreal Engine and other engines supposed to do wonders for devs to create something in very short time which took ages in the past? I swear I saw some Unreal Engine videos the last years which were all about creating phenomenal looking things with ease...and not only from Epic but also from many people doing videos about it mentioning how it's all so simplified now so that you can skip a lot of stuff you had to do in the past.

And since they don't need more people for the music or the story as 10 years ago, there shouldn't be such an explosion in costs...

Because people are pushing in to make service games, open world games and games with higher graphic/visual styles - this requires a bigger development team, more advertising and higher expectations.

Thats fine, From can self publish or find a better publisher.

Only one I am remotely interested in getting outside of PC/Xbox would be Hi-Fi Rush.

-Four games will be ported to other consoles. No promise of any other games.

-Phil believes that introducing non-Xbox gamers to these franchises can be beneficial to Xbox as a whole.
-The focus is always "How to grow Xbox".

-All first party games are still going to be day 1 on GamePass.
-GamePass is still only available on Xbox.
-Cross-save and cross-progression are very important to the Xbox ecosystem.
-Activision-Blizzard games will start to come to GamePass on March 28th, starting with Diablo IV.

Hardware
-Xbox gaming isn't just about one device.
-New devices are planned for Holiday 2024.
-They are working on next generation hardware.

Misc
-2023 was a great year for games, but the industry didn't grow.
-It is either "How to we grow the user base" or "How do we get more dollars from our current base"

Fully paid is interesting wording.

To add further data, EU said Game Pass Ultimate is 70%-80% of all Game Pass subs, that was 2 months before GP Core was added.

Someone do the maths
