Also, the rising costs of AAA games don't have an easy remedy in my view. Even say Sony or Xbox were to just make their 1st party games on EVERYTHING day one (Xbox, PS, PC, Nintendo's next system). The gained sales from these games seem like they would be a good deal higher, right? Then AAA game costs keep going higher even when that happens. Then we're right back to, AAA costs are unsustainable after a short period. Costs NEED to be reined in, it's the only real solution.

When a game needs to sell 10 million at full price just to break even that isn't a good thing. The same issue is happening in the movie industry. Sure, Grand Theft Auto can get away with a $300 million or higher budget with GTA6 pretty much guaranteed to sell 10M in its first week, plus the live service aspect of the game bringing in a lot of money.

Idk, I find the whole "price cuts are difficult" to be an odd line. Simply because Xbox seemed to have no issue dropping the Series X price to 350 last holiday period. And I hear Sony has been doing some pretty sizeable cuts on PS5 in Europe (literally their strongest territory btw). It's not like people are asking for you to cut the price of a console in half or something and both have already shown the willingness to cut prices by significant amounts. Keeping the price high will reduce sales of consoles.

Microsoft wasn’t making a profit before the price cuts, they sure as shit ain’t making it with. Sony is likely making a profit on PS5 hardware so likely doesn’t want to dip to breaking even or even losing money.

Gamers have to meet them half way as well and stop whining at every single game which doesn't have eyeball melting graphics

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Even going multiplatform (in my scenario going multiplatform to everything) isn't a real solution. Costs are too high and are going to keep climbing.

Yep, don't get this obsession with super high-end graphics. Never been a selling point on a game for me personally.

Yeah but hasn't hardware traditionally been sold at a loss or a small profit? The real money has always been in software and peripherals for the console. Price cuts have been a normal thing for consoles up until this generation.
