Sea of Thieves can literally dish out a *free* narrative-focused expansion, free of dogshit characters, and still get shafted by TGAs. Cyberpunk isn't even a "live service" by its own admission; it's literally just updating to something closer to its original promise & a beefy expansion.

Damn, Coolbeans chose violence today! Spittin fax though!

CD Projekt getting praise for delivering what they were supposed to have delivered almost 3 years ago and they never will fully deliver what they originally promised

It's that time of year to pick on the Dorito Pope!

It's not really picking if it's deserved criticism for Dorito Pope and his awards show xD

Every year I see all kind of sketchy choices with his show, from missing several categories that should be there (such as per Platform Awards and Best Supporting Performance), to only weighting user vote at 10% to the critics 90%, to poor cutoff dates and poor nominating of good games that missed the cutoff the previous year, to doing 6 nominations for some categories but only 5 for others just to purposefully snub a game, to relegating whole awards to just reading winners off a list instead of giving proper nominee introductions with short video clips and announcing the winner live (just to stuff more ad breaks into his show), to just poor nominating choices in general each year.

It's a good show for announcements and trailers, but the actual awards part of his awards show is severely lacking. I'm just glad that there are so many alternative gaming awards where developers can get proper recognition for their hard work, such as the Golden Joysticks, DICE Awards, Game Developers Choice Awards, BAFTA Awards, SXSX Awards, and Titanium Awards.

Private Servers in December + One Piece Expansion in 2024 is Sea of Thieves last hope of ever being nominated. It won't be but they should do it anyway, a One Piece crossover would be hype. In recent history they've only been capable of changing one game per year so Sea of Thieves has one shot in 2024 and will likely be beaten by whatever is played by more people

Best Ongoing Game - 2021
Apex Legends – Respawn Entertainment / Electronic Arts
Call of Duty: Warzone – Raven Software / Activision
Final Fantasy XIV – Square Enix
Fortnite – Epic Games
Genshin Impact – miHoYo

Best Ongoing Game - 2022
Apex Legends – Respawn Entertainment / Electronic Arts
Destiny 2: The Witch Queen – Bungie
Final Fantasy XIV – Square Enix
Fortnite – Epic Games
Genshin Impact – miHoYo

Best Ongoing Game - 2023
Apex Legends – Respawn Entertainment / Electronic Arts
Cyberpunk 2077 – CD Projekt Red / CD Projekt
Final Fantasy XIV – Square Enix
Fortnite – Epic Games
Genshin Impact – miHoYo

I think if Firefight is in December then it's time for Phillip to take 343i off the naughty step which is what it has felt like they've been on marketing wise for over a year now and actually advertise Halo Infinite again.

Imagine a trailer at TGA's, basically a "road so far" trailer, show off every piece of content in Halo Infinite today, the dozens of maps, the customisation options, the dozens of game-modes, the competitive and the fun stuff, the Forge creations, Custom Game Browser, etc. Then the trailer ends with "And now...Firefight! Available Today!"

Phil...Pierre has proven himself...Now it's time for Microsoft to do its part and market Halo again, Lol.

Easy to see they copy and paste the same list each year with a new game added in the 2nd column. Decent chance they are paid by these publishers to always be included.

Love seeing all the support for Halo Infinite saying it deserves Destiny 2's spot in TGAs

Not that it will change anything but the community being positive on Halo again is lovely to see.

I mean, almost any game game deserves that spot over Destiny 2 tbf.
