I think Volition was one of the studios I said would close after the Saudi deal collapse.
Doubt it will be the only one...Shame to see a 30 year old studio closing.
Hopefully Undead Labs can pick up quite a few employees.
If they touch Dambuster or 4A Games I'm going to be fuming.
Unlikely though, they'd have to be dumb as shit to mess with two of their best studios.
This is beyond scummy. Fuck Embracer.
A funny thing about Embracer shutting Volition down today is that it's the very last day of the month, which means our insurance ends TODAY. If we had been closed tomorrow we would have had insurance for all of September.

Lol who actually cares about reviews when a game is so close to 90.
That being said I don’t think IGN and Gamespot reviews were unfair it actually raises an interesting topic if a game takes really long to get going and becomes a 10 does that make it a 10? I reckon the end game counts more than a slow start though.
Ragnarok got insanely high reviews but I laboured through it…at the end of the day the reviews have no weight on the value and enjoyment a game can bring.
A great start to a new era 👌🏽
I haven’t heard much info on the gun play and how it feels would love to hear some first hand impressions.
88 review average is great. I've only had time to watch to Matty's impression, but the overall game is wonderful with a few annoyances here and there. One thing Matty notes is you can really sense the blood, sweat, and tears BGS put into this game.

Ooof, that is indeed quite shitty. Hopefully they all find new jobs very quickly.

I thought ign was always seen as a joke in the industry and gamespot not much better. |
Pretty much all 'professional' review outlets are seen as a joke these days. The one I usually give more grace above the others is Destructoid, only because they more often than not align with my judgement on games. And I do mean 'objective judgement', since I'm one of the few people here that still believe objectivity isn't that difficult to seperate from personal taste and bias, but I guess it's much easier to promote the 'everything is how you choose to see it' belief, rather than acknowledge your flawed opinions/purchase decisions and/or blatant agenda.
I was going avoid everything Starfield related for a bit, but I didn't realise the early access time was actually 12 midday here (not midnight), so having to wait for the physical edition to arrive didn't actually hurt me in the end but I did have to kill 30mins. Even though I scrubbed everything Starfield related from my YouTube history, because I watch one weekly podcast on Kinda Funny Games (Xcast) YouTube naturally flooded my sidebar with all their new videos, and since Kinda Funny Games is a blatant PS fanboy channel they couldn't wait to plaster thier thumbnails with Starfield's disappointing metascore.
Oh well. I finally killed enough time now anyway.
Somebody at Xbox forgot to flip the switch, 5 minutes after 8 now and Starfield still isn't live. Somebody wake up the guy who is supposed to be waiting at the keyboard ready to make the game go live, he didn't have enough coffee today!
