Now Xbox better keep this momentum up, not everything needs to be a 90+ and in-fact I'd argue they don't need a 90+ at all to be successful, as an example some of Sony's extremely popular and successful IPs are in the 80s. They simply need a consistent stream of at least high quality AAA releases. It started with Halo Infinite & Forza Horizon 5 then they went dead until now.
Starfield is the first in hopefully a new beginning to their line-up, after Starfield we have Forza Motorsport which is shaping up to be great, before Forza Motorsport we should have the Activision-Blizzard deal closing, a huge drop of ABK titles into Game Pass to keep people busy over the Holiday's after Forza Motorsport. There's a new COD which is good for Xbox business but not really relevant here until it can come to Game Pass.
Their Holiday will be good between Starfield, Forza and ABK.
So now their focus better be on planning their early 2024 line-up, Towerborne has very strong impressions from Gamescom and now I think we're looking at another 80s title, Hellblade 2 and Avowed I think both will hit 80s, Flight Sim 2024 should be an easy 90 or near enough but the issue is we don't have a release date for any of them.
Ideally, Hellblade 2 and Towerborne will be Early 2024 and Avowed in Holiday 2024. Flight Sim 2024 in Summer. I'd also delay Ara until they can launch it simultaneously with Xbox which is also planned for 2024. They also claim to have unannounced 2024 titles, I think Contraband could be 2024 but just unannounced right now, maybe a couple surprises.
- Q3 2023 - Starfield.
- Q4 2023 - Forza Motorsport + ABK Closure.
- Q1 2024 - Developer Direct + Towerborne?
- Q2 2024 - Hellblade II?
