A Helix S that's much like how Series S was marketed would be great next gen. Bump up the hardware a smidge if need be to make sure devs are satisfied enough with it this time around. I'd be way more likely to pick up a Helix S console instead of a PS6 handheld hybrid.

PS1   - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.

PS2  - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.

PS3   - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.

PS4   - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.

Interestingly the disc to digital program brings back physical to PC. I could buy a physical copy of Oblivion Remastered to play on my PC... 🤔

As long as it supports Play Anywhere, which is thankfully increasing in popularity!

Ngl, seeing Double Fine teasing that if they're given $100 million, they'll make Brutal Legend 2, rubs me the wrong way.

It's like, they had 7 years to make something like that with the full financial backing of Xbox, and at a time when Xbox was approving every project under the sun with a blank check. To then go out and make arthouse projects. Great little arthouse projects, but something like Brutal Legend 2 was completely on the table for multiple years. Now that they're independent, they finally want to use the fish hook on a Brutal Legend 2? A game like that, costing $100 million to make with a small studio size like Double Fine, sounds insane by itself.

Granted, that is their stretch goal rather than their main goal, but......UGH what could've been!

Yeah, I think it will definitely come in a good bit more expensive than Series S, because they need to make it a good bit more powerful relatively speaking than Series S was, since Helix X is reportedly a very powerful console. Helix X seems to have a Zen 6 CPU (4 generation leap over the Zen 2 in Series X with considerable IPC improvements), a GPU that has been compared to the RTX 5080 in performance (which would put Helix X at 60+ tflops most likely compared to 12 tflops on the Series X), and most likely 36 GB of RAM (they were originally aiming for 48 GB but leakers think they will reduce it due to the RAM pricing crisis). In order to not hold a console that powerful back, Helix S would need to have like a 30 tflop GPU, the same CPU as Helix X running at a lower clock rate, and probably 24 GB of RAM down from 36 GB on the Helix X.

With Helix X reportedly coming in at $1000-1200, Helix S would probably be coming in around $700, making it more of a Series X successor in price and specs.

1,109 games tested so far in disc to digital. 838 are supported so about 75% support, of those about 165 support Play Anywhere.

https://xct.live/disc2digital

Ubisoft, Bandai Namco, Sega, Square all seemed to have opted out of support.

Other Major publishers like Take Two, EA and Capcom are supported.

Weirdly Forza Horizon 4 is the only Forza title supported. FH5/FH6 and others aren't lol...

Unfortunately, I was just looking through the not supported list and 5 major publishers appear to have opted out of disc-to-digital, 4 of which are Japanese. Missing are Sega, Square Enix, Capcom, Namco Bandai, and Ubisoft.

Edit- Capcom support is partial, some like Resident Evil 1 Remaster, Resident Evil 3 and 4 remakes, and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 are missing, the rest are supported or not tested yet.
