I went out to buy the game, came back with a PS5 (plus game). Now we can both play at the same time, the one big advantage of digital games. I can always buy the physical version later for my collection after it gets discounted. I asked, no extras on the disk.

It's gonna be a while, installing Tlou pt1, GT Sport, GT7 and Ragnarok. That will probably fill it right up.

SSD for the PS5 are on sale and is pretty easy to install.  I suggest investing in one.  The local storage for the PS5 is really small and can fill up pretty quick, at least for me.

You guys are still buying discs? I'm all digital on my PS5 now, even with the disc edition. It feels weird even seeing games on store shelves anymore to me.

Same, actually. Own like 50+ PS5 games, like 4 of them are physical.Even then, I also have them digitally and the physical copies are just for show

I get physical because I get better deals, especially for new releases.

There's actually still 250 GB left after those 4 games. It's much nicer to have more storage yet I have found that for me it only leads to having more installed to ignore forever :/ The limited space keeps me more focused on actually playing/finishing the games I have installed. The paradox of choice works on every level :/

I prefer physical games so re-install is never a problem. Physical has the same problem though, put on the shelf to play later.... My PS5 back log is already getting out of control yet again. Instead of investing in SSD, I need more time to consume content instead of simply storing it :)

GOW rag took a crap ton of time to install and the update.  Usually I just do not have the patience to wait for all these installs then all the updates afterwards.  I always swing by games I have installed and did not finish at some point in time.  After I finish them, I do remove them.

I'm quite focused on the games I install and play start to finish before moving on, so the internal memory isn't really an issue for me. GoW I bought PS4 disc and paid for upgrade and it installed while I was driving home from work and it was already updated when I arrived =p (wife inserted the disc and put to install PS5 version).

Ha yes, this is perfectly stated for how I feel about getting more storage and why I’ve held off still after 2y.

The benefit of having a wife at home, I do not have such a benefit.

I can't count all the benefits of being married to her =]

Man, I knew it was gonna be a war between God of War and Elden Ring but man so much of the discourse between them is toxic and ignorant.

Like, it's okay to like both and simply prefer one. It's okay to not like one or the other. It's okay to have criticism, even, but so much of this is 'hah! that other game is nominated? What a joke, it doesn't even [insert thing it absolutely does do]!"

Like, people are out there saying God of War is just dumb action or that Elden Ring has no story. Like, both of those statements are objectively false, just narratives used to discredit the one you don't like (not on here, I'm actually really pleased with how the discourse is here).

Both God of War Ragnarok and Elden Ring are fantastic games all around, but they're also very different games. They are going to have different approaches and different strengths and different weaknesses. I really wish gamers as a whole could have discussions without being toxic.
