As I said in another thread ... The combination of a low quality and low quality graphical assets makes it very difficult to see the potential from their tech demo.
The Wii's TEV unit is very similar to colour combiners that were included on graphics cards before companies moved towards programmable shader hardware; they were (generally) never used to their potential because programming for them was manufacturer specific (and often card-specific). Many tech demos that took advantage of colour combiners had graphical effects that weren't possible until shader hardware became more powerful.
What these guys are trying to show is that you can achieve material and lighting effects which are (somewhat) similar to what is possible on the XBox 360 and PS3; this isn't to say that they're anywhere near to the quality of the XBox 360 or PS3 effects but they're far beyond what has been produced in most Wii games so far.
@Happy Squrriel
If what your saying is true then the video looks fantastic considering.
But I figured they mean't all around, then this isn't the final product.
I'm Unamerica and you can too.
The Official Huge Monster Hunter Thread:
As long as its not a bland gmae (artwise) and the graphics are above the normal shovelware norm, more power to High Voltage. At least they brought up the lazy 3rd parties and that they themselves want to change things and prove The Conduit worthy. However, with this kind of hype, they must come through, or the Flak they will receive will be horrible. I hope to God this game actually comes through good.

You guys are forgetting that the tech demo is not the actual game but how the engine can render those water, shadow and texture effects and such. The early screenshots of the game that they showed look better than the video and the game is still in developement so it will the look better.

Because they should have added it, is propably why Nintendos consoles have had the HW AA atleast since N64...

I'm afraid I don't understand your response. Are you saying Ninty consoles since the N64 HAVE had hardware AA?? If so, it doesn't appear to have been used in any game I've ever played. Also, are you saying Ninty should have added it or the engine developer should have added SW anti-aliasing?
Awesome, finally someone figured out how to work around Wii's 3Mb texture+frame buffer memory and 88Mb RAM limits. Now lets make some serious games for the Wii that show off how powerful the Wii really is.
Down with Bungie, down with Insomniac, long live High Voltage Software.
/endsarcasm
Now for real, High Voltage Software looks pretty bad making such ignorant comments.
