The entire Gears franschise+Halo MCC are a must, as are the two Ori games. I would also recommend Panzer Dragoon Orta if you like action SHMUPS :).

I haven't seen the game with HDR yet though. However the latest update made it unstable on Series X and its a rather huge download just to try out for a bit. I would still be flying on PC anyway.

Next time I'm at the store I'll look out for Halo MCC, Gears 5 and State of Decay 2. They should all be cheap now. The Steelbook Forza 7 edition I got was only CAD 20. It popped up a whole bunch of achievements just installing the game lol. (Collector level, extra cars included I guess)

It already offered game pass for a dollar, but then it's CAD 16.99 per month. Live Gold is CAD 11.99 a month here. I didn't know it was that much already, CAD 144 a year just to play online, hmm. Ah it's half price for a 12 month digital code. Odd that wasn't on the menu on the system.

I'll stick to physical for now. Sunset overdrive is another one I missed last gen, that shouldn't be hard to find a copy off. And Quantum break. Got my shopping list together :)

I get it now:
Live Gold: 11.99
Gamepass without online: 11.99
Gamepass PC: 11.99
Gamepass ultimate: 16.99

So pretty much still CAD 144 a year to play online plus 13% tax. CDKeys sells 12 months for CAD 65, much better deal if reliable. Still more than ps+ though, but I top that up on Black Friday. XBox should have deals on Black Friday as well.

I guess I'll wait for a free online weekend to test out the online waters in Forza. Not much point subscribing for one game only to find out it's just as big as a shit show online as in GT7!

Not sure if it still works but you might be able to convert your XBL Gold to GP Ultimate for CAD 1.

They never got rid of that promotion for whatever reason.

Make sure to stack up on Gold before doing that though (up to three years).

Yeah I was looking at that, then I reminded myself of my giant backlog and love of physical games and put it out of my head again :)

I'm pretty sure that doesn't work anymore. Also, Last holidays I was waiting to pick up game pass ultimate on special and the best deal I got was Costco 2 x 3 months Ultimate for $89.99 CAD. It's ongoing deal so if you want cheaper game pass Ultimate for $14.99CAD/Month use the Costco Codes2go. Looks like Microsoft isn't going to be giving away Game Pass for super cheap anymore.
