Is free speech suppressed on the internet's main public squares

Yes 61 54.95%

No 46 41.44%

Undecided 4 3.60%

Total:111

Captain free speech has now banned the terms “cis” and “cisgender” on Twitter.
Twitter, the public square, now only readable if you sign up with an account to a private corporation. And even then, once you sign up, there’s a viewing limit of 300 posts a day. Those with existing accounts are now limited to viewing 600 posts a day.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I think he upped the limit to 1000 now for registered accounts.
But since just scrolling by tweets count as 'reading', people can hit their limit in a few minutes.

He keeps making Twitter worse and worse.

I used to be able to find tweets from public figures by looking for the blue checkmark. Not anymore. Now the comments are filled with blue checkmarks who paid 8 dollars/month for it.

When this thread was created, I voted "no" in the poll. But now that Musk is leaving his mark on Twitter, I'd vote "yes" if asked again.

Poor Elon. Like so many other rich people, he has come to realize that you can't buy respect and admiration. He would have loved to go down in history as one of mankind's greatest men to have ever lived, but all he'll achieve is the status of a scumbag because he is one. He has failed at life.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

This tweet view limit is BS. You don't block daily views to end users, APIs and even the internal database for any reason other than storage access and bandwidth costs. In other words, Musk didn't pay his AWS hosting bill.

To the privileged, equality feels like oppression.

Elon Musk is rebranding Twitter to X.
His midlife crisis purchase just went eXtreme!

I wonder if Tweets will be rebranded to Xcrements?

He'll make a successor called Y, then a successor to that called Y NOT?

Imagine giving up on a unique branding concept like Twitter, tweet, tweeting, etc.
In favor of X, X, and X'ing?

Elon is a genius.

I think I know why he changed it to X.
Twitter now has more ads than a kink-based porn site.

It's all about pay money or watch more ads than ever. I have another weird theory why the X. When you see an embedded post you have the X where you normally have an X to close an ad or something. So, there will be millions of clicks on these tweets of people who just want to click it away but they open the link instead lol. And we know how Elon loves to brag about increased "engagement"

A form of findom perhaps?
