Trump: “Again, this isn’t Trump’s war. We’re here to try to end it, settle it, all of that. No one’s winning—it’s a loss from every angle. This was started by Biden and others. And in this situation, that guy (Rutte) is doing a great job.”

Trump: “I’ve spoken with most major countries—they’re very enthusiastic. They’re ready to go far, very far. You asked how far I’d go? They’re the ones ready to push it. They don’t want this to continue. For Putin, that should matter. His economy is in bad shape. He needs to fix it.

Trump:I speak to him (Putin) a lot about getting this thing done. And I always hang up and say, well, that was a nice phone call. And then missiles launched into Kyiv and some other cities, and I say, that's strange. And after that happens three or four times, you say, the talk doesn't mean anything

❗️There are no military goals, Putin is just bombing Ukrainian cities, — NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

👀 At this time, Trump agree with every word.

🇺🇸🇺🇦⚔️ The US may soon sell NATO short-range missiles, howitzers and medium-range air-to-air missiles, which will then be transferred to Ukraine, — CNN.

"May" "Soon" Lol.

Still sounds like there will be some restrictions too, only short-medium range missiles.

This is the problem with him announcing stuff with no details, there's still nothing concrete planned.

If I don't see major weapon packages announced in the next few days (I'm talking in the billions), not just defensive equipment but also offensive equipment then I'm going to assume this is more delay tactics to make it look like he is standing up against Putin to get his attackers off his back but ultimately still not doing much, the threat of sanctions in 50 days is utterly useless and the promise of weapon deliveries is vague and nothing seems even confirmed yet.

One of the big European countries should make an offer and buy a shit ton of missiles for Ukraine now before Trump weasels out of it.

What we're going to see now is Russia go on the charm offensive, Putin will be ringing up Trump and kissing his ass in the next few days, telling him how they want peace and it's all Ukraine's fault, Russian officials will talk about how amazing Trump is and he has fell for this at least 4-5 times already so we need those weapons purchased now before he gets tricked once again.

So we just wait how much Putin can take from Ukraine the next 50 days and then it's up to Putin to decide if it was easy enough to push even further or to say "ok we are fine with what we have now"? That's how it sounds, Trump gives Putin the decision.

If Putin will decide after 50 days that they won't reach much anymore and stop this shit, Trump will be called the guy who's ending wars even when it was Putin saying he will push for 60 days.. If Putin will be happy with what they achieved and push even further into Ukraine, Trump will again give him a final last chance...

This time Trump decided to give Putin not 2 weeks as usual, but 50 days. Threatening about 100% tariffs if there would be no agreement.

So fucking pathetic he still won't directly combat Russia with sanctions, all he is really doing is no longer preventing American companies from profiting of the Ukraine war but whatever, I'll take that because it will help Ukraine a lot, as long as there's no restrictions on what we can buy, Europe now just needs to find the finances and they'd be braindead to not just use the Russian assets for finance it.

Also, if you just think about it for 5 seconds, it's an absolutely empty threat. 100% tariffs on what products exactly? What does Russia still export these days apart from authoritarianism? Maybe some Vodka still, but that's about it, then.

That will hit Putin less hard than the fly that just landed on his forehead.

Seems that way, Putin straight up told him he'll attack for another 60 days, that implies Putin will assess the situation after those 60 days and decide whether he can continue or will finally accept a ceasefire, basically this 50 day threat is entirely on Putin's terms still, if Putin accepts a ceasefire it will only be because they're militarily exhausted and need to rebuild their army to try again later, in which case Trump will claim he stopped the war and Russia surrendered to him so he can get the Nobel Peace Prize.

But this doesn't settle the elephant in the room that Russia will still be illegally occupying nearly 20% of Ukraine, a ceasefire won't be the end of things.

Also the September deadline comes at the end of Summer which is basically when offensive actions slow down anyway so it would be the perfect time for Russia to accept a ceasefire, rebuild, then find an excuse to attack again next Summer while having 6 months of Ukraine being unable to bomb their oil refineries, manufacturing plants or troop concentrations.

Why the fuck are we paying for shit when we have $200bn worth of Russian assets at our disposal, it's absolutely braindead and shooting ourselves in the foot, and again, I'm fully in favour of increasing defence spending and paying for Ukraine's military but we literally have the opportunity to pay for America's weapons using Russia's blood money instead of our own so lets fucking do it which means less cuts will be made to our own countries to fund these initiatives because Russia is doing half the funding for us.

It's absolutely pointless to hold onto this money thinking it will convince Russia to stop, it won't, Russia has already written it off, and it's short-sighted to hold onto the money to Ukraine's restoration, they'll be no restoration if Ukraine loses, we need to focus on Ukraine winning first and foremost and then we can cross the reconstruction bridge when we come to it.

Take the fucking assets already, $200bn to spend on American weapons.

Because its much more legally difficult to seize the assets than it is to seize the interest. This is where realpolitik comes into play.

Ahhh, the old question of restraint vs doing what we all want/need.
