And I'll say again, Europe needs to grow a spine and take Russia's entire assets now to fund this.
I'm not opposed to increasing defence spending, I'm not opposed to buying American weapons on behalf of Ukraine, but we have to be realistic, increasing defence spending and buying overpriced American weapons at the same time, is going to cost us a fucking fortune, it means cuts will have to be made, often those cuts are made to public services, that will result in angry citizens in countries and a breeding ground to enable the far-right to get in power, the far-right will then block aid to Ukraine completely.
Why the fuck are we paying for shit when we have $200bn worth of Russian assets at our disposal, it's absolutely braindead and shooting ourselves in the foot, and again, I'm fully in favour of increasing defence spending and paying for Ukraine's military but we literally have the opportunity to pay for America's weapons using Russia's blood money instead of our own so lets fucking do it which means less cuts will be made to our own countries to fund these initiatives because Russia is doing half the funding for us.
It's absolutely pointless to hold onto this money thinking it will convince Russia to stop, it won't, Russia has already written it off, and it's short-sighted to hold onto the money to Ukraine's restoration, they'll be no restoration if Ukraine loses, we need to focus on Ukraine winning first and foremost and then we can cross the reconstruction bridge when we come to it.
Take the fucking assets already, $200bn to spend on American weapons.
