it's like if I sell my house and 20 years later my son tells the "new" owner that it's his house because I died. He could do that but he would be the idiot of the day

No wonder why Putin looks terminally ill, Zelensky has now been teabagging him with those for more than a hundred days straight.

Can anyone tells what this means in context? It sounds like Ukraine have been pushed back again but hard to tell by how much.
Something I've noticed the last couple of days is news sources citing comments and misinterpreting them - so far in The Times and The Independepent and both cases in relation to bulletins from the UK Ministry of defence.
I've forgotten what the The Times did but This is what The Independent did. This morning the MoD posted an update in relation to the fighting in Sieverodonetsk. The updates reads "reports of heavy shelling near Izyium suggest Russia is preparing to make a renewed assault on the northern axis."
The Independent now has a headline saying Russia is preparing a new attack on northern Ukraine, based on this comment. Now I can see how easy the error is to make based on the wording - the use of the phrase 'northern axis'. But Izyium isn't in northern Ukraine, its in the east - just north of Sieverodonetsk. The comment is in relation to a potential attack to the north of the embattled city, not a new attack on the Kyiv region.
My point is be careful to understand what posts mean and their sources.

Honestly that could be a good thing. The longer this drags on the more it hurts Russia and favors Ukraine.

Reminder that Aiden isn't a foreign fighter or a mercenary as Russia continues to claim him to be, he is a Ukrainian national who moved from UK to Ukraine and an official member of their armed forces as of 2018, Russia is being a lying piece of shit as per usual. I'm not sure about Shaun but Aiden isn't a mercenary, he's a POW. Hope to God there's some fucking serious consequences for Russia if they go through with this. Aiden, Shaun and Brahim are heroes. |
The irony in a terrorist group accusing soldiers of the country they are terrorising of terrorism.
All so-called officials in that kangaroo court should be on the international watchlist for war crimes. What they are essentially doing is committing conspiracy to murder on an international stage.
Again ironically there was an article in the Guardian of a Congolese student who is fighting with the LPR forces. That man is a mercenary (possibly also a terrorist). But those in the above with dual British-Ukrainian citizenship (Aiden Aslin is engaged to a Ukranian. Shaun Pinner is married to a Ukrainian) are nothing of the sort. The British media I follow haven't shown given as much info on the Moroccan man and his background, but you can hardly take this show trail at face value.
In response to the above...
How is that any different to what Hitler claimed he was doing for Germany in WW2? Yet Russia says Ukraine are the Nazis?

Propaganda is often hypocrisy and lies. The Putin propaganda strategy is nothing new, he’s been doing it for over 15 years.
“The Firehose of Falsehoods” it’s called by researchers. Characteristics are:
1. High volume.
2. Rapid, continuous, and repetitive.
3. No commitment to objective reality.
4. No commitment to consistency.
The reason it works for his followers is because they aren’t concerned with objective truth. They care about Putin’s ownership over reality. To them, Putin always tells the truth, even when he lies.
You know who else engaged in blatant falsehood propaganda? (Hint… Hitler).
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Yes but the people that are hurt the most are the current Ukrainians under occupation by Russian forces. Especially if things turn into a Bucha situation.
