I dont htink it will affect the Giants overall that much. Tuck is a good and up in coming DE that will take over his job quite well.

But in other areas, what do you all think about the Bears without Cedric Benson now? I think they might pick up Shaun Alexander to help with their running game and to help teach Forte to be an every down back.

I know its not likely but I've been hoping the vikings will grab Jason Taylor away from the Dolphins....ooh sweet mercy that would be one helluva a good defense.

The Vikings already have a killer d-line. Especially with Jared Allen and the remaining DE and DL. Plus their salary cap would be killed if they would go for Taylor.

That would be interesting seeing Shaun Alexander play for the Bears I think he has some game left in him. But I don't know if they would sign him since he would probaly want a pretty decent amount ,The Bears GM are very stingy .I also doubt that Jason Taylor would get traded since Parcel wants a high draft pick for him. The Viking already have a scary defense with hell of a running game, they just need a consistence QB too dominate.

Well adding to that strength is sort of the point actually.

As for the salary cap, Taylor isn't going to have a lot of options soon tbh. With him saying he only wants one more year and Miami looking for 1st/2nd round pick he is going to be hard pressed to find someone willing to pay the 8 million he is scheduled to make much less anything more.

The vikings have room now especially with our adjusted cap at ~$135M which puts us ahead of a lot of other teams with the default being $116.7M. We actually have the highest adjusted cap of any team in the league this year, but that's because we know how to play the LTBE system by pushing cap adjustments into the next season.

Its definitely a situation where we pay for the move next season more than right now but it could also be the final piece of the puzzle that allows us to go all the way. Ultimately with the camps started and everything in progress it's too late to make the most out of it and the future sacrifice is enough that the RvR ratio isn't favorable for us. A month ago I was all for the idea...now its just too late...I just keep holding on to the dream of what could have been .../sigh

Yeah the Lions really are in a terrible position right now, not only are they lacking in a host of positions but they are also the team with the lowest adjusted cap this season. Essentially not only are they a high needs team but they also have very poor resources to draw on to meet those needs.

This is the sort of thing that happens when your cap managers are crap or get overruled by managers and coaches who don't know wth they are doing. I honestly haven't followed the Lion's plight enough to know what the case is here but whatever it is anybody who is a Lion's fan today and remains so for the next 3 years is a true fan ineed.
