Now we know what the Mario Kart team have been doing all these years: MK8D DLC and probably pre-production for the next Mario Kart game. This was the best direct I can think of in recent memory and the nice thing about it is that they didn't pad things out like they usually do.

Hot damn that's exactly what I've wanted for Mario Kart 8 if we were never going to get 9 on the Switch. Can't wait for more courses! I had heard rumors of the Chrono Cross but hell yeah it comes with Radical Dreamers as well, just wish it also came with Chrono Trigger. I'll probably get Klona and Switch Sports

This direct was AMAZINGGGGGG

Seems the last phase of courses wont release until end of 2023.

Nintendo is already showing Switch support through 2023.

I cant see a successor launchin next year.

Also great direct.
Portal was a nice surprise

The 48 courses DLC is basically your Mario Kart 9. I was sold at Choco Mountain though.

They’re going to make such an embarrassingly huge pile of money from this.

Holy cow, 10 exclusives within a year ?

And this direct only goes until September, it's like 2017 all over again, that's basically a console launch lineup

It be cool if they released a physical version of these courses after all the DLC ones open up.

Mario Kart 8 will outsell Wii Sports.

But will it outsell Switch Sports?

It’ll be interesting to see how Switch Sports will sell, now that it’s an actual game again unlike that WiiU one which was weird.

Decent Direct, I give it a 6/10. The highlights for me were Fire Emblem Warriors 2, Chrono Cross, Live A Live, Front Mission, and the Disney F2P Kart game. Loop8 on the Japanese direct also looked very good.

Most memorable thing though was that awful music on Splatoon 3

That music plays during that mode.

Very strong ND geared to tastes of eastern games (JRPGs etc...), it set out the release line up to September which was obviously the goal of it the E3 ND will probably focus on the holiday period as everything shown is coming out with in the coming months.
