Portal shouldn't count as a PS5, because it doesn't natively run PS5 games.

Switch Lite should count as a Switch, because it does natively run Switch games AND it has no exclusives (unlike Game Boy Color which had hundreds of games that didn't work on Game Boy).

But can it switch?

Or is it a handheld only?

Nobody seems to be able to answer that simple question.

The 2DS can't 3D but it's counted together with 3DS, the PS5 can't use PSSR but it's counted together with PS5 Pro. Your argument is cope of the highest caliber.

It's the same console.

It runs the same games. It has the same OS. The eShop is identical between the 3 Switch models.

The form factor doesn't matter. The PlayStation TV is still a PS Vita.

I will pose this question:

Many have requested a TV only Switch. They’ve requested it by that name. They say they don’t want to pay extra for a screen but they just want to play the Switch games. Again, their words, not mine.

If Nintendo were to have made a TV-only Switch and you were to buy it, would you own a Switch? A TV-only Switch? Would you then be a Switch owner playing Switch games on your device that only hooks up to the TV? Or should that be counted as another console entirely?

For god sake, why are people trying to say that a Switch Lite is not a Switch? What is it then? An Atari 2600? And why is this conversation taking placing in the tread about the Switch hitting 160 million units? Some questions to think about

It would obviously still be a switch

I hope you didn’t think I was making the opposite point. I’m showing the absurdity of the folks claiming that the Switch Lite shouldn’t count toward the sales of the Switch. Seems like a no brainer to me, but leave it to folks that just want to argue about anything.

I actually thought you were making the opposite point. I'm glad it's not the case. I could have quoted other people here, but I chose you just bc you were the most recent in the thread. But yeah, calling a Switch Lite not a Switch is non-sense
