Question if i may, what indication is there that the switch will/can sell 2 mill units in the holidays season when switch2 will be the next big thing(or actually already is)

Thats a BIG holiday sales.

This is all Switch's holiday quarter shipments:

FY17   7.23

FY18   9.41  +30.15%
FY19  10.81 +14.88%
FY20  11.57 +07.03%
FY21  10.67 -7.78%
FY22   8.22 -22.96%
FY23   6.90 -16.05%
FY24   4.82 -30.14%
If in FY25 they ship 2.00 million units that would be -58.5% and the lowest holiday quarter ever.

Ow,okej i understand that makes sense i guess however i do think ninty is going to focus a lot more on switch2 ads then switch1.

Time will tell

Verry exciting

Don't forget the Tomodachi Life next year (the sooner the better - jan, fb..). Can it provide a 5 mi "jump" like ps2 had last year? Who knows.

So, is no one gonna talk about how Nintendo telling devs to make games for NS1 instead of NS2 whenever possible reveals they don't plan to be done with the NS1 anytime soon?

Good point. I think the tariffs stuff plus the price increase in the US+Canada cool down this fórum a little. Let's wait for the August sales numbers and see the impact of them on the Switch 1's sales. Depending on how it goes, people's will come back to talk on this fórum. As a side note: the japanese market doesn't seem ready to ditch the Switch 1 any time soon

The Wii sold a 100 million units.

Never forget.

Never forgive.

I dont accept the 160 million figure anyway, so once it passes 156 I will consider it the champion and I will continue to reference it as such whether or not it passes 160

Yeah I think Sony needs to show receipts for that 160 number too.

Things like store kiosk units, promotional units, maybe even defective units could/likey are part of that 160+ number as it's (well) a production number. It likely encompasses as PS2 unit produced for any reason, that's not the same as units shipped to a retailer for sale.

That's not the same as a sold through or shipped number. Either show a sell through number or the last known shipment number is the number to beat.

The fact that they're using a "production number" is a pretty clear sign they are being deceptive. They know damn well the final actual shipment total for the PS2, so why not just share that number instead of this number. They don't want to, because that shipment number is under 160m IMO. They are scared the Switch 1 is going to beat that number. There's no other reason to withhold that.

exactly right. I have no respect for how they handled this. i think switch will pass their ridiculous 160 number regardless but i will be considering it number 1 as soon as it reaches 156 which should be close to around next fiscal year.

once switch passes 160 they will surely "reveal" their true number (because over 160 million is in no way an official sales figure). It might be 161, 162, or something else. i am starting to think they left the language vague to give themselves wiggle room.
