Yeah I think Sony needs to show receipts for that 160 number too. 

Things like store kiosk units, promotional units, maybe even defective units could/likey are part of that 160+ number as it's (well) a production number. 

That's not the same as a sold through or shipped number. Either show a sell through number or the last known shipment number is the number to beat. 

The fact that they're using a "production number" is a pretty clear sign they are being deceptive. They know damn well the final actual shipment total for the PS2, so why not just share that number instead of this number. They don't want to, because that shipment number is under 160m IMO. They are scared the Switch 1 is going to beat that number. There's no other reason to withhold that. 

exactly right. I have no respect for how they handled this. i think switch will pass their ridiculous 160 number regardless but i will be considering it number 1 as soon as it reaches 156 which should be close to around next fiscal year. 

once switch passes 160 they will surely "reveal" their true number (because over 160 million is in no way an official sales figure). It might be 161, 162, or something else. i am starting to think they left the language vague to give themselves wiggle room.
