You won't be able to play most of your games on your Vita TV

My games all work. Except Gravity Rush

Well you chose wisely then, cause I have God of War collection and Uncharted Golden Abyss, only one of the 2 works on my PSTV

The biggest problem is the terrible joycon situation. I shouldn't need a Pro Controller to play my Switch, but both joycons are failing so hard I have no other choice.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Come join The 2018 Obscure Game Monthly Review Thread.

I really do think Switch is a great console overall but my main gripe is definitely battery life.

In second place it has to be their entire online infrastructure - something that seems to have plagued Nintendo for generations of consoles.

My biggest problem with the Switch is the fact that I own a Wii U, so there is not much reason for me to get one (don't care about the portability).

Personally I find there is a severe lack of AAA mature games.
Playstation and Xbox you have God of War, Uncharted, Horizon, Halo, Gears, Call of Duty, Battlefield... All of which are pretty heavy hitters.

That coupled with out-dated graphics, framerates and resolution hasn't helped.

OLED screen upgrade was a small step in the right direction, but should have had a 1080P panel at a minimum... They still could have made the display another few mm larger and eaten up what is left of the bezels... Plus a higher performant SoC and better battery.

I have said this many times already, but I will keep saying it whenever I have the chance to, because it bothers me so much: lack of controller options in handheld mode. I CANNOT, for the love of God, understand, that to this day, we have only one option of joycons from Nintendo. I cannot emphasize enough how much I would appreciate the option to have some type of "retro-joycon" where the analog sticks would be completely gone, that way I could play my fighting games or 2d fast paced games in general, comfortably in handheld mode. This is probably the biggest gripe I've had with a console for a long, long time.
It's a FREAKING attachable controller, more options should be an obvious thing.

Have you tried the Hori D-pad JoyCon or the very comfortable Hori Splitpad Pro?

I have a hori d-pad joy-con and it sucks. Very uncomfortable.

I've never tried the splitpad pro. It looks monstrously big. I like to keep my Switch somewhat portable. The splitpad pro is not quite what I want and it's missing features too. I believe it does not even have rumble.

I just want a pair of joycons with d-pads and no analog sticks. Kinda like a Snes joycon.

It's power for me. And not because games look outdated, but the unacceptable framerates.

This is probably one of the biggest problems also:

This is every game featured at the TGA's with a trailer and the platforms they release on:

Game PS5 XSX Switch PC
Elden Ring 1 1 0 1
FF VII Remake 1 0 0 1
Crossfire X 0 1 0 1
Babylons Fall 1 0 0 1
Suicide Squad 1 1 0 1
Slitterhead 1 1 0 1
Destiny 2: The Witch Queen 1 1 0 1
Sonic Frontiers 1 1 1 1
Lord of the Rings: Gollum 1 1 1 1
Hellblade 2 0 1 0 1
A Plauge Tale: Requiem 1 1 0 1
Dune Spice Wars 0 0 0 1
Tunic 0 1 0 1
Star Trek: Resurgence 1 1 0 1
Arc Raiders 1 1 0 1
Rumbleverse 1 1 0 1
Homeworld 3 0 0 0 1
Have a Nice Death 0 0 0 1
Dying Light 2 1 1 1 (CLOUD) 1
Tiny Tina's Wonderland 1 1 0 1
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1 1 0 1
GTFO 0 0 0 1
Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 1 1 0 1
Forspoken 1 0 0 1
Cuphead 1 1 1 1
Horizon Forbidden West 1 0 0 0
Evil West 1 1 0 1
Steelrising 1 1 0 1
Metal Hellsinger 1 1 0 1
Tchia 1 0 0 1
Saints Row 1 1 0 1
Alan Wake 2 1 1 0 1
Total 25 23 4 31

Only 4/32 games featured at the TGA's this year are on Switch and one of those isn't native.

Personally I'd never buy a 3rd party game on the Switch anyway (except older titles like Skyrim) so it's not a massive deal to me but Switch misses more games than any other platform by far.

With it's lack of power and lack of 3rd party support Switch will always remain a secondary console just for Nintendo games for me.

Well , looking at the total 25 for PS5 , 23 for Xbox Series X and 4 for Switch it is a problem for Nintendo since the gamecube era I think? Switch gets support from 3DS and PSVIta ports and some smaller unique japanese indies not on PS5 and Xbox Series X which I like alot. But yes Most developers won't pay to downgrade their game on switch and as for Dying light 2 being a cloud game they don't wanna downgrade and rather just let cloud do their thing even if cloud gaming on switch is basicly just renting :(

I think it's more of a problem that started later in the Wii era. Gamecube had good third party support because it was easy to port PS2 games to it, they didn't need downgrading and optimizing or unique control schemes. Most major third party series from this generation are available on Gamecube, Spyro, Crash, SSX, Need for Speed, Battlefront, Call of Duty, The Sims, Rayman, Resident Evil, Burnout, Tony Hawks, Hitman, Fifa etc. Most of the major third party franchises of this generation are available and good versions of these games not crap downgrades or different versions.

It's mostly in the Wii generation when the new massive franchises started abandoning or being heavily gimped on the Nintendo console. Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Batman Arkham, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Portal, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Dark Souls, Dead Space, Tomb Raider, Dragon Age, Battlefield. These are some of the biggest most defining franchises of the 7th generation and they were all missing the Wii.

It's the uniqueness of Nintendo's consoles that have caused the exodus. Whereas developing a PlayStation/Xbox multi-plat you might as well be developing for the same system by comparison.

In gamecube era I think I never saw a Grand theft auto series , Midnight club 3 dub edition , Marvel vs Capcom 2 , and other unique games that PS2 and Xbox 2001 shared but Gamecube did get Madden

Yeah it's true it missed some big ones like the GTA games but I still think it had very good third party support getting most of the major third party franchises of the 6th generation, whereas the Wii missed all those massive 7th gen franchises I listed.
