Forums - Nintendo - MMO Game heading to Wii?

"Stray Bullet Games, an independent developer of Massively Multiplayer Online games, seeks an Experienced Sr. Programmer for our new Wii project. This is a full-time position at our offices in beautiful Austin, TX."

It's a job posting from Stray Buller Games.  An MMO for the Wii would be nice.  I wonder if this will be there Sci Fi fantasy game "Future Fantasy".

Cool I hope they do actually do it, it would be a pretty fun experience

Well what ever this project is, I hope it does good! It's always nice to see 'independent' developers working on projects. With all the news going around it won't be long before they are gobbled up by bigger companies.

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

I looked them up and the only game I could find created by them (formerly known as Wolfpack Studios) was titled Shadowbane.

Interesting stuff, we'll see what happens in the future.

An MMO could be good on Wii if they have a harddrive, a headset, and they manipulate the camera with the IR instead of trying to use the D-pad.

I think we're getting beyond the point of needing to heavily maniupulate an in-game camera. Some of the best games have been made with smart cameras that required little or no adjusting. Games like Eternal Darkness and Super Mario Galaxy.

Also, moving the camera with the IR can be a headache. It was occasionally annoying when playing Scarface on the Wii.

Cameras should be smart and automatic these days freeing up the gameplay to actually encompass gameplay, not cameraplay.

Why would a hard drive be crucial?

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

I like how there many cool games coming from independent studios thanks to the Wii ^^

The lifeblood of MMORPGs is regular updates and expansions, which require significant storage space. Without these, it'll be a short, shallow, and most likely broken experience (compared to others on the market). There's really no way to do a "full" MMO up to the standards we're used to without a few gigs of spare storage.

As much as I would LOVe to see an MMO on the Wii I highly doubt that the Wii's online status would intrigue devs to come up with a decent Wii MMO. In due time we MAY see one, but for now I do not have any hopes.
