Disappointing numbers for SMTV, although inline with prior entries, thought the Persona boost and being on SW would result in a breaking of the mold. Interesting to see how the rumoured PS4 port will do.

It won't do great, I highly doubt it will ever release

Well there's code booleans about game settings for PS4 so it seems pretty substantial. SMT3 HD did very well on PS4, and Persona fanbase is on PS4 so I think it will help a fair bit. Should have been day 1 but there's probably some Nintendo paid exclusivity deal there.

The game was first introduced during the presentation of the Switch back in january 2017

If SMTV does release on PS4, hopefully Persona 5 (Royal) releases on Switch to make it fair.

Nothing suggests it will. There's no fairness in business.

Globally, and digital included, SMT5 has likely had the best launch in series history.
People seem to forget it's a niche franchise.

SMTV drop on par with most non-Pokemon JRPG drops. Impressive how Pokemon BD/SP did more than S/S on first week.

Metroid already outside the top 30.

Will be difficult for #Team2021 to pull through unless Nintendo somehow finds a way to improve the stock situation.

The PS5 , Japan is obviously low priority for Sony when it comes to shipments.

Funny, because JP has the second of third largest shipment of PS5s by country.

Source?

Because 4.3k shipped (assuming they're selling everything they ship) is beyond terrible.

I think he means lifetime, which is true. It's just behind the US and the UK and just in front of Germany. But Japan also has a very big population. Selling 3mil units in Japan is a flop while in the UK it would be a success.

My comment was more referring to the last few weeks (I should've specified that), but yeah, lifetime Japan is like prolly third place.
