It still doesn't change the the point, Game Pass has quality games on the service.

His list doesn't show that, I mean besides Psychonauts which is a day one GP game, the remaining isn't that great, or came to the GP several months after realease.

List doesn’t show that? What? It’s 12-13 quality games just from the last three months or so. Please don’t strain yourself while shifting those goal posts.

So only Psychnauts 2 is quality? lmao You were the one arguing in an article about meta scores mean everything about a game, and several of these games are reviewed 80+ so are you going against what you said earlier? Then define to us what makes each game on that list NOT quality then. Let's not forgot how many games he didn't mention, and what he provided was only a sample of what has released on Game Pass

I didn't say only Psychonauts 2 is quality, actually I said the opposite. And that purely on me but:

Flight Simulator: Okay graphically impressive, but once you flight wherever you wanted to fly, you're done with the game
Hades: Old Switch port, great game, but it was last year stuff
The Forgotten City: Great skyrim mod that went into a full game, but not a full fledged game, kinda repetitive and short
Scarlet Nexus: Meh, Astral Chain did it better
The Artful Escape: Meh, okay-ish platformer, and I hate the design
Subnautica: Below Zero - Don't know the game
Dirt 5: It's a Dirt game, you get what you get from it
Art of Rally: Okay-ish, but def not my type of game
Back 4 Blood: Do I really need to explain why ?
Omno: generic
Lemnis Gate: great idea on paper, terrible execution
Age of Empires IV: only on pc so far

I meant "His list isn't meant to show that", he made a list of the newest entries in the last 3 months, so the list was meant to show that new entries are quality games.

stop trolling B4B is great

So a bunch of opinions that doesn't reflect anything besides how you feel about the games, not anything reflective of the service at all. Gotcha. What does being PC only have to do with anything when the point is talking about the quality of titles on the service?

What's your problem with B4B? It's a very fun game.

Well that was literally your request: "Define to us what makes each game on that list NOT quality then"

Not sure why the value (to the gamer) of gamepass is under scrutiny again. There's no denying the value proposition right now is immense to the subscriber. Yet that's normal for the customer acquisition phase of a new service. (Except for Stadia lol)

Still no numbers, only MS admitted not reaching their internal target for growth despite the games market experiencing it's highest growth recorded since 2012 (up +23.1% year on year, the highest growth for the Market since Newzoo began tracking revenues in 2012)
Although most of that growth is on mobile platforms, and of that growth, most is in casino games...

Anyway this would be the time gamepass would be experiencing explosive growth if it really was that desirable. If MS stays silent about subscription numbers after Halo and FH5 have dropped, it's not looking all that great. But I suspect we'll get some engagement numbers, hours played and peak subscriber count for the holidays. It would be useful to get revenue numbers, much easier to see where gamepass is going that way.

Yea seems like a deflection to not talk about the recent MS statement.

Well thats the thing, halo and forza are sure to push gamepass numbers but now people ate up that 30m coment and ms wont release numbers after the halo forza push because it will look bad after people thought it was 30m. They will think they lost subs or something.

My only concern is that this numbers secret is gona muddy the water on what actually moves consoles and the service. I'm prety sure would they reveal numbers that after halo and forza in a month we could see a big jump. Because thats what people want to see, big games releasing day and date and will show the vast amount of below average games that have been launching day and date or good/ok games that launch a year or more later does not imcentivise gamers to either buy a console or sub to the service.

There's some missing context with the 'missed goal' stuff.

I think everyone here (almost at least) know about the context of the missing target, which isn't that interesting, the most important thing being the total user numbers as of June 30th, to put into comparison with Jez's "23 - but not really most likely - 22 million" and Take Two CEO's 30 million figures.

So yeah, 15 million from June last year to 20 million this year is a big bump, but if you consider there were 18 million by December 31st, they gain +3 million subscribers in the first 6 months and then 2 million in 6 months after that.

And for 9 months now, we don't have any new subscription numbers, despite being widely reported each quarter until January. Maybe there will be a boost in November/December thanks to Forza and Halo, but since the latter has its multiplayer free, I can see people paying 1$ for December to play the game and then unsuscribe from it. That will not be everyone of course, but can cause another decrease for Q3 reports.

i severly doubt this, that is a very shortsighted strategy, because what trickery would they have to do next year or the year after?

They been doing this since the x1 started underperforming and everybody was fine with it. It was so bad that fans started saying just releasing numbers was console wars.
