Sales - Gamepass Numbers - View Post

Not sure why the value (to the gamer) of gamepass is under scrutiny again. There's no denying the value proposition right now is immense to the subscriber. Yet that's normal for the customer acquisition phase of a new service. (Except for Stadia lol)

Still no numbers, only MS admitted not reaching their internal target for growth despite the games market experiencing it's highest growth recorded since 2012 (up +23.1% year on year, the highest growth for the Market since Newzoo began tracking revenues in 2012)
Although most of that growth is on mobile platforms, and of that growth, most is in casino games...

Anyway this would be the time gamepass would be experiencing explosive growth if it really was that desirable. If MS stays silent about subscription numbers after Halo and FH5 have dropped, it's not looking all that great. But I suspect we'll get some engagement numbers, hours played and peak subscriber count for the holidays. It would be useful to get revenue numbers, much easier to see where gamepass is going that way.

Yea seems like a deflection to not talk about the recent MS statement.

Well thats the thing, halo and forza are sure to push gamepass numbers but now people ate up that 30m coment and ms wont release numbers after the halo forza push because it will look bad after people thought it was 30m. They will think they lost subs or something.

My only concern is that this numbers secret is gona muddy the water on what actually moves consoles and the service. I'm prety sure would they reveal numbers that after halo and forza in a month we could see a big jump. Because thats what people want to see, big games releasing day and date and will show the vast amount of below average games that have been launching day and date or good/ok games that launch a year or more later does not imcentivise gamers to either buy a console or sub to the service.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.
