It's not about how good the games are. Tropical Freeze also released at $50 and is one of the most bullshit Switch re-releases, in not only being more expensive than the original at launch, but three times the price of the Nintendo Selects version that was on the Wii U until they removed it because they didn't want the 5 people who would buy it on the Wii U to cannibalize the Switch version's sales.

Skyward Sword also releasing at a higher price than launch is unacceptable. Again, not about the game's quality. The game is undeniably large with a boatload of content and lots of incredibly well-crafted dungeons and puzzles, high quality orchestral music, boss fights, polish, graphically, everything about the game is high quality. If you don't like the content it had, that's on you. Lots of people love it. But it shouldn't have been priced at $60.

New Super Mario Bros. U, funny enough, is the most acceptable one here because at least it's priced the same as it was originally, instead of having a price raise (price raise, there's something you won't read in any gaming discussion unrelated to Nintendo). But for the quality of content you get, it should've never been priced that high to begin with.

Agreed with all this. NSMBU at least also had the Luigi version of the game as well. It most reasonably should have been $60. Skyward Sword should have at most been $50 given that it's a Wii game but they did put a bunch of work into it to change all the controls and add a few QoL changes. DK should have been $40 at most. Or really, Nintendo should have a policy that HD ports of Wii games or Wii U games should be $50 at launch because people will buy at launch, and then drop to $40 a few months later once sales slow down. It makes no sense that ports/remasters/remakes that the market clearly says should be $30-$40 Nintendo just keeps at $60 forever despite sales dying off soon after release. Like, millions of more people would buy these games, and Nintendo would make more money, a win-win, if they would drop these old ported games to reasonable prices once their sales die off.

Agreed with this. But Skyward Sword has lukewarm sales on Wii. Nintendo tries to force good sales, I don't know why. Donkey kong have ok sales and New Super Mario Bros, a B tier 2d Mario, have great sales on Switch. So Nintendo brings new games and try to maintain high prices on all games.

It has never been! It's a bad game.

10 point for you

Look how much of an upgrade Twilight Princess HD was and Nintefndo charged a full 60. Seriously knowing some people, they would be happy if Nintendo charged double and made you buy Amiibos to see the real ending.

Twilight Princess HD wasn't a bigger upgrade than Skyward Sword HD. You really like being insanely respectless, do you?

It's a bad game so no. Yes, Nintendo is capable of making bad Zelda games and bad games. This is one of them on both accounts. Maybe it's YT compression but it hardly looks HD at all.

I love the game and am having a fantastic time with it so for me, I’d say a firm yes. But of course, it’s subjective, and only an individual can decide how much something is worth to them. I paid $100 for the game, steel case, keyring and Zelda amiibo. I only played the game once when I had the Wii and didn’t remember much of it, but 25 hours in and I adore it.

It definitely looks HD on my Switch and on my TV. And I disagree with you about it's quality, but yes, Nintendo did make a bad Zelda game, Zelda II.

Zekda II is a great game.  SS is not. It's everything Zelda is not.

If you haven't played it before then yes, it's a fantastic game with some of the most brilliant level design and puzzles in the series both inside and outside dungeons, very memorable characters and story, fun to use items which are not useless outside the dungeon where you got them and an engaging non-button-mashy combat system (my favorite in the series). It's a waaaay more linear game than BotW but I don't think that's inherently a bad thing.

If you have played before on Wii then it depends on how much 60fps, higher resolution (aka it does not look like s**t on HD displays), non-motion combat (though I personally think the motion combat is great) and some QoL improvements are worthy for you (I've read that they've made the game more enjoyable for a lot of people but ymmv).
