I see it kinda like Smash Bros characters now. I don't actually care who it is or where it's from, I just want something fun, you know? I liked Byleth and Corrin, I like fire emblem characters, I don't care if we get huge third party reveals or obscure Nintendo history, I just want characters that are fun to play. So I don't care WHO we get, I just care that we see who it is.

Same with E3 in general. I just wanna see new shit. Doesn't have to be exactly what I want, I just like getting excited about stuff and having a good idea of what to expect. we haven't got that all E3, really.

Nintendo is my favorite game publisher, so I tend to get more invested in them than other publishers. I tend to keep my expectations low so that some disappointment will be mitigated.
Nintendo just doesn't have a good track record of how they announce and give updates on their titles. Now I'm not expecting them to announce a bunch of games 3-4 years in advance of their release date, but I think their E3 and Directs/announcement trailers leave a lot to be desired.
The Breath of the Wild sequel has had virtually nothing mentioned about it since its announcement at E3 2019. Even if we get a huge reveal today, that's an unacceptable pacing of information for such a flagship game. It'll be even more unacceptable if Breath of the Wild 2 is already launching at the end of this year.
The last Nintendo E3 I enjoyed a lot was 2017. Really the only thing I liked a lot during their E3 2019 Direct was Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Nintendo E3 conferences tend to be okay to decent on average with some good outliers (and some great in the past) and some meh or lackluster showings.
