Forums - Gaming Discussion - Who wants a PS5? I'm doing a giveaway!

Are you still looking for a PS5? Are you that person who comments on every post or media piece about the PS5 that they're impossible to buy? Well here I am giving one away for free!

I do also realize I look mad in the thumbnail, so I might have to change that later lol

Nope, and I don't find them difficult to buy. Just need to know the stock dates, how I managed easily secure one.

Really? I want it!

Not from USA so not really eligible

However I find your initiative really nice, so I'm subscribing your channel and following you on Twitter regardless ;)

Yea, and I know you likely didn't watch it, but I spoke about this entirely lol

I would assume so: demand still exceeds supply (though per above, it's not THAT hard to get one, it's just not "walk into the store" easy)

Sorry about that, and I mentioned it to many commenters, too: the PS5 is still too hot of an item for me to trust shipping that where it has to cross any sort of customs line (where the scan/sniff/xray the packages or whatever).  The only way to reduce the chances of loss are high insurance and high priority which is super costly when it's international shipping!  Not to mention this isn't exactly that small and light, either (like a letter or document).

Pay me the 589 dollar shipping fee to Brazil, cheapskate.

And buy me another one if it gets lost along the way.

Hmmm, seriously though, that's really generous of you. Of course as with any giveaway the purpose being to gain notoriety rather than just to be nice, but you deserve more attention anyway. Hopefully things go well.

Lmfao, so SOMEONE is familiar with shipping international with tracking, signature, high priority and full insurance! :P  In some ways, yes: giveaways are to attract new people by getting their attention, but I do tend to do giveaways as a way of giving back to my small fanbase.  Anyone loyal to me definitely has a non-judgmental penchant that can see through my appearance/shenanigans

I'm not familiar with it directly, but I've heard stories. Brazil is really terrible about international shipping, unsurprising as it's generally terrible at everything.

Once upon a time in 2018, however, I won a Switch giveaway. Except if the winner was foreign, which I was, they instead would just give them a $300 Amazon gift card and it was up to them to figure out how to get it shipped. I was surprised to see that Amazon actually did ship to Brazil, and the shipping cost was somewhere along the lines of $320 lol. Thankfully my parents knew someone who was coming from the US soon and we got it shipped there, but, yeah. Oof.

Anyhow, while it's nice of you to feel that way about your loyal fanbase, you can be damn sure none of them will win this giveaway. Whoever wins it will disappear the day after, it's just how it goes. I'm not loyal to where I got my Switch from either

It's because Amazon already includes taxes in their shipping fees. Sometimes it doesn't even makes sense because price + shipping fees are below 50 USD, but yeah...

What amuses me is we are taxed even for literal gifts, because laws includes everything not produced in Brazil as import regardless you are actually making a purchase or not

Nah, don't want it to clutter up my entertainment space. Thanks anyway.

I could do with a second console to stand next to my Xbox Series X and two Switch consoles.

I would love to be on the possibilities, but also Brazilian so won't really work out.

Hmmm a PS5 sounds nice.
