Which is better?

PSP 31 45.59%

Both systems provided a nice initial 'wow' factor. Seeing nearly PS2-quality graphics on a handheld in 2004 was mind-blowing when the previous standard was SNES and the main competition was N64-level. The first time I ever saw the glasses-free 3D in action was similarly mind-blowing. I'll never forget trying that demo of Street Fighter 4 3D.

For me the deciding factor is that I prefer Nintendo games to Sony games, so I'd rather spend my time on Mario 3D Land and Fire Emblem Awakening than on God of War and GTA.

PSP for me but not just for games.

PSP came out at a time when I had a flip phone. And smartphones at the time were pretty meh. Iphones and ipod touch weren't a thing if I remember correctly so ipods were mainly that square shape and their main purpose was music/video player. So when I got a PSP, it was mind blowing! The ability to play music, wide screen videos and browse websites! The interface looked so modern at the time. The memory cards, while expensive, wasn't *that* expensive compared to a microsd card if I remember correctly. And of course, it had a number of awesome games including FFVII Crisis Core which I liked quite a lot at the time.

Now technically, the Vita had plenty of functions that the PSP had but the Vita came out during a time when my smartphone could not only do all of those things, but could do them better. And the memory cards compared to microsd card prices were horrible for the Vita.

I think the 3ds had more games that I liked than the PSP did but as an overall package, especially for the time the PSP came out, it was hella fap worthy! Especially since you could browse porn on it's web browser and transfer porn videos to it's memory card and watch them on it's video player. Hell I think the PSP's UI still looks more modern than the 3ds.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Definitely PSP:
- FF7 Crisis Core
- MGS Peace Walker
- Kingdom Hearts BBS
- God of War (both games)
- GTA
- Persona 3
...too many more to list but to me it was the first time I felt like I was playing a home console on a portable device.

It also had the PS1 classic games, it was a media player, was able to hook up to TV to play on the big screen,

(Then there's the icing where it can be modded and to let you play tons of emulated games)

The 3DS vs PSVita was no contest. 3DS.
This one however, I actually had to think about. 3DS still. PSP is still awesome.

I'd throw 3DS in the trash if I could get SMTIV and DQVII on Switch. Such a boring system with a lame library overall for a handheld.

I never owned a PSP, but it did have three main Monster Hunter games, so that's a big point in its favour. I also like its design a lot better than the 3DS with its more normal sized buttons and comfortable shape. Its screen was also higher resolution despite releasing 7 years earlier.

3DS does have the advantage of Nintendo games, but the only one I ended up buying was Mario 3D Land, and while it was a good game, it wasn't up to the usual standard of 3D Mario. Resident Evil Revelations and Monster Hunter 4 were good as well to be fair.

I don't feel like I'm well versed enough with the PSP to cast a vote so I'll watch this one from the sidelines, but its already a much closer race than 3DS vs Vita.

It is a tough choice. But PSP wins
because there is ridge racers.

Normally, I'd say the Nintendo handheld is always the best one, but these two are not in the same generation.  I'd have to give it to PSP this time.  3DS is the worst Nintendo handheld I've played.  It really does not have many games that I want to play.  I really liked Theatrhythm Final Fantasy and also Fantasy Life.  I had some good fun with Bravely Default, but I felt the game was padded so I quit around 1/2-2/3 of the way in.  I tried several other 3DS games, but they really aren't that great.  Most Nintendo first party games I would prefer to play on a home system.  I don't want to play Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Hyrule Warriors, etc... on the 3DS because there are home versions of those games I like better.  Also I seem to like Fire Emblem a lot more when it is on a big screen.  I just have never enjoyed Fire Emblem on a small screen too much.  I've never been into Pokemon and the rest of the library is kinda...meh.

Meanwhile, PSP had several games I really enjoyed like Crisis Core: FF7, Dissidia, Patapon, and Final Fantasy Tactics.  It also has several games I feel like I missed the first time around like Tactics Ogre, Jeanne D'arc, Trails in the Sky, etc... basically a lot of RPGs and Tactical RPGs.  The battery in my PSP is currently dead, but at some point I know I'm going to buy a new battery, dust it off, and then play a bunch of PSP games I've never tried before.  I don't think I'm ever going to do that with my 3DS except to play DS games.  Also the PSP can be played on a home TV and that is a feature I really like.

PSP really is the better system this time.

It's close though, they're almost tied in votes.
