Didn't get to see Elio today because the projector wasn't working. -_-

The 28 Trilogy: Haven't watched the previous films since they came out so this was a nice refresher. Days is now a classic that breathed new life into a tired genre. I appreciate how they did a lot with a little. Even a cheap Android phone could shoot a sharper image today but the cinematography was still better than I remembered and rather creative at times. Weeks starts out similar in quality to Days but gradually gets worse and worse as it goes to the point that the third act is completely impotent. Years is the most refreshing take on the genre since The Last of Us and a wonderful return to form. The splicing of old footage and audio into the film was inspired but the more experimental jump cuts and rotating shots were just distracting to me. The emotional climax was so moving it brought me to tears and hit very close to home for me. That said, I see why the ending is so divisive and I have pretty mixed feeling about it, myself. I probably would have preferred one that kept the tone of the scenes before it, or even just ending the whole movie a scene earlier. Would definitely watch again, though.

Watched Daredevil : Born Again, I liked it. Vincent D'Onofrio (Kingpin) still makes the show in my opinion. The best MCU villain they have put forth in terms of acting off the top of my head.

After it was over I thought She Hulk can't be as bad as everyone said .... I was wrong, I didn't even make it all the way through the first episode. About the time she flings the Hulk off the front of a jeep to crush a bunch of boulders I shut it off. What an unlikable character she plays. I appreciate the lighthearted approach they were going for but they just did not stick the landing. Leave the 4th wall breaks to Ryan Reynolds if you can't pull them off.

Finally saw Elio, which is a way better Lilo and Stitch remake than the actual remake.

Not a watch but a listen. A friend recommended this album to me and it's beautiful. Give it a listen if you have a minute:

Old AVGN. Up to Atari Porn. *vomits profusely*

Since my last update I've finished or fully caught up on Cobra Kai, What If...?, Castlevania: Nocturne, Silo, Shogun, Invincible, Love Death + Robots, Black Mirror. Also finished the first two seasons of Foundation (not saw the first episode of Season 3 yet). Currently working through the final season of Evil, two episodes left of Squid Game.

Also really annoying that Amazon cancelled Wheel of Time, I heard it doesn't have a satisfying conclusion either and whenever that happens it really puts me off finishing the remaining episodes, if I know it ends on a big cliff hanger. The 2nd half of season 2 was really strong and I heard season 3 was really great all throughout but I don't even want to start Season 3 now.

Thinking about making a few threads for some shows to discuss them.

My current list is 304 episodes left, 235 hours, before I add Severance, Daredevil: Born Again, Inside No. 9 and Dark, Lol. I let my TV Show backlog build up too much. Has anyone watched Inside No. 9? I never heard of it then recently saw people talking about how amazing it is and it being a bit like Black Mirror. Also does anyone else use TV Time?

Saw Superman on Friday. Easily an improvement over the DCEU.

I just watched Fargo season 5. Fantastic anthology series with a new cast each season. And this one cast one of my favourite actresses from the 1980s... here she is putting Jon Hamm's Tea Party/MAGA persona in his place. As a note, one of the major themes of the series is identity, and this is most pronounced in this latest season → particularly responsibility of gender identity... similar to Mad Men which Jon Hamm starred in years earlier.

This scene was great, and Lorraine, portrayed by Jennifer Jason Leigh (the original good girl gone bad actress* during the 1980s) was my favourite of the season, even though she wasn't as present in the latter parts of the series.

*probably not the original, but the first one whose film I came across.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

This fun short Nintendo released when it was still 3 days away from Donkey Kong Bananza.
