The 28 Trilogy: Haven't watched the previous films since they came out so this was a nice refresher. Days is now a classic that breathed new life into a tired genre. I appreciate how they did a lot with a little. Even a cheap Android phone could shoot a sharper image today but the cinematography was still better than I remembered and rather creative at times. Weeks starts out similar in quality to Days but gradually gets worse and worse as it goes to the point that the third act is completely impotent. Years is the most refreshing take on the genre since The Last of Us and a wonderful return to form. The splicing of old footage and audio into the film was inspired but the more experimental jump cuts and rotating shots were just distracting to me. The emotional climax was so moving it brought me to tears and hit very close to home for me. That said, I see why the ending is so divisive and I have pretty mixed feeling about it, myself. I probably would have preferred one that kept the tone of the scenes before it, or even just ending the whole movie a scene earlier. Would definitely watch again, though.
