The Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console with 363,437 units sold for the week ending January 30, according to VGChartz estimates. The Switch has now sold an estimated 78.63 million units lifetime.

The PlayStation 5 sold an estimated 169,958 units to bring its lifetime sales to 5.01 million units. The Xbox Series X|S sold 98,020 units to bring their lifetime sales to 3.41 million units.

The PlayStation 4 sold an estimated 57,255 units, the Xbox One sold 19,981 units, and the Nintendo 3DS sold 1,318 units.

Nintendo Switch sales compared to the same week a year ago are up 108,719 units (42.7%). The PlayStation 4 is down 78,000 units (-57.7%), the Xbox One is down 21,320 units (-51.6%), and the 3DS is down 12,947 units (-90.8%).

Switch with the best VGC 4 week start to a year and best VGC January ever at 1,652K. Next best is NDS 09 at 1,610K and NDS 08 at 1,585K. NSW 2020 was at 1,319K.

Asia is really buying Switch like crazy.  There is no doubt that Switch is popular in Japan, but the rest of Asia sold about 13% of the Switch's worldwide total.  That is not a trivial little piece.  Here is a further regional breakdown for Switch just using a little subtraction.

Mainland Asia's gaming tastes aren't too different from Japan's. Or to be more precise, South Korea and southeast Asia, because the Middle East is a different beast in cultural terms.

That's why it's shortsighted when people write off Nintendo's dominance in Japan as something isolated to Japan, because what happens in Japan will likely spill over, now that Nintendo has bothered to have an increased presence outside of their typical main territories.

I was going to post a lengthy response explaining that profits is all that matters and that Xbox division makes a lot more of that from PC Gamepass users than it would by forcing hardware sales of console by not having a Gamepass, but then I realized your Kirby and I am assuming you are just trolling?

Well, if the rest of the Pacific Asian region likes Animal Crossing and Ring Fit Adventure as much as Japan does, then that would definitely explain why their hardware sales are so high.

they released the best console in about 2 decades and its still selling like its horrible predecessor PRwise, dunno where you see this going but less than 30 million wouldn't suprise me
