Probably playing PS4 games.

But PS4 games aren't showing up in the rankings either...

I'd figure most of them are just playing their old PS4 library on it.

That, or the bundle PS4 games you get for subscribing to PS+ on the PS5

The "big new Switch holiday title" Hyrule Warriors is not even in the Top 10. Also Mario Kart Live is missing. Switch is selling with evergreens and Momotaro.

Xbox Series seems to have stock issus...

Switch down YoY means that 30M in this calendar year should be out of reach. Maybe US and Europe are doing better than JP.

So, Switch down YoY, the cliff is here! (-:

On a serious note, sales will probably rise with the release of Monster Hunter, which is why Capcom calls it MonHun Rise.

It also could mean, that Nintendo might drop a new model next year, to reverse the trend. Together with new big software (BOTW2) that might do the trick.

PS5 is up week over week, but still with bad numbers. I assume one decent shipment and it is no longer supply constraint. Could burn some scalpers.

3DS and XB1 are essentially over.

EDIT: Cyberpunk dropped instantly out of the TOP 10.

10 years greatest game event!

Switch is unable to match last year's numbers, so 6m for the year is out of the question now. It's not going to sell 322k+ units in the final week of 2020. The final ten weeks of the year look to be down ~8% year over year. No big first party holiday title, no new SKU, no price cut, so this was a good final stretch even when it didn't meet high expectations.

In other news, Switch crossed 17m LTD. The individual SKUs also hit new milestones: 14m LTD for the hybrid and 3m LTD for the Lite.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

A Biased Review Reloaded / Open Your Eyes / Switch Shipments

Next Famitsu's Top 10 will be published on January 7th and it will include numbers for both Week 52, 2020 and Week 1, 2021. As always, it's unknown when Famitsu is going to post the Top 30 specifically for Week 52, 2020.

Keep in mind that Week 52 will be the big week of the year.

PS Plus collection may be playing a role here.

Curious if Sony regrets that now

If I was new to PlayStation with the PS5 then I would definitely spend $60 for a year (well probably $45 with holiday discounts) on PS+ and those games will cover me for a year before I jump on PS5 games.

I'm gonna wait to get a PS5 until the price drops and software is cheaper. So maybe 2-3 years.

Dang, since the last 4 days of the year counts for next year I guess Switch will just barely miss 6 million this year. Should come very very close though.

PS5 looking very weak as we've come to expect in Japan.

Switch software dominant! RFA finally hits 2 million! AC almost 100k. Mario 3D All-Stars sneaks back in top 10. Smash one week away from being second Switch title to hit 4 million retail! And Momotaro sales are just insane.

Too bad Nintendo didn't have a big first party game for the holidays. That would have ensured Switch hitting that big 6 million mark for the year in Japan. Will be interesting to see how next year's Japan sales compare to this year and if it can go after 6 million again. Next year will have BotW2 (admittedly not as big in Japan but still big game), new model at some point, supposedly new Pokemon remake, MH Rise + MH Stories 2, possible price cut on the OG Switch depending on what the new model is, likely a few more decent system sellers, better supply throughout the year after vastly increased production this year, but Covid boost will be fading/gone, and AC and RFA boost gone. Would love to see Nintendo have enough in the pipeline for 2021 to have a huge year and break 6 million after likely just barely missing it this year.
