Dang, since the last 4 days of the year counts for next year I guess Switch will just barely miss 6 million this year. Should come very very close though.
PS5 looking very weak as we've come to expect in Japan.
Switch software dominant! RFA finally hits 2 million! AC almost 100k. Mario 3D All-Stars sneaks back in top 10. Smash one week away from being second Switch title to hit 4 million retail! And Momotaro sales are just insane.
Too bad Nintendo didn't have a big first party game for the holidays. That would have ensured Switch hitting that big 6 million mark for the year in Japan. Will be interesting to see how next year's Japan sales compare to this year and if it can go after 6 million again. Next year will have BotW2 (admittedly not as big in Japan but still big game), new model at some point, supposedly new Pokemon remake, MH Rise + MH Stories 2, possible price cut on the OG Switch depending on what the new model is, likely a few more decent system sellers, better supply throughout the year after vastly increased production this year, but Covid boost will be fading/gone, and AC and RFA boost gone. Would love to see Nintendo have enough in the pipeline for 2021 to have a huge year and break 6 million after likely just barely missing it this year.
