A shame the award can't fix the writing.

A shame that you can’t see the writing is one of the best to ever take place on a video game.

Far too many contrivances in the writing for me to agree.

I'm pretty positive it is a Sony game, and launching on a smartphone doesn't deny that, it didn't launch on other consoles and Horizon is very much a Sony game and launched on PC, MLB is a Sony game and will launch on Xbox and Switch.

He's asserted that it's Ninty ruled and doesn't want to back out of it, despite the fact that Sony pretty much worked with the dev team from the start, funded them, pubbed for them, and even helped them, as well as having it on multiple Sony systems, yet he wants a piece of paper he's legally not allowed to see.

I don't think he wants to admit it's pretty much a Sony game.

I would say this would be more of a case that would go if you can't prove it doesn't belong to Sony then we can keep assuming it belongs.

It is quite possible that Sony even received money from the sales on smartphone. And on the help I think it was SSM that almost co-developed, done the same with couple other devs as well right?

That's why I'd always ask for someone to acquire said contract that shows us who owns what specifically, and since no one here has said access, we're left to go with the overwhelming evidence of Sony's aid, both financially and team based.

I'm not sure who pubbed the game on phones though, but I imagine Sony would have made something out of that.

I don't think Sony would need to publish it on phones to make a cut, there is probably some royalty fee somewhere no matter where is released or who releases.

Absolutely deserved. The Last of Us 2 is the most impressive game and feels like a next generation game!!

Ghost of Tsushima, FF7 Remake and Persona 5 Royal are awesome too, but my congratulations go to "The Last of Us 2".

PS: Demon Souls for PlayStation 5 and the new Spiderman weren't nominated because they came out so late.

A game I didn't like won... Guess I'll just continue living my life.

Btw, anyone want to try to sell me on Hades? Keeps getting praise like being named indie game of the year here. But... I just played Transistor, and it had some good ideas, but ultimately left me feeling a bit disappointed... If I felt that way would I enjoy Hades more or is Supergiant's stuff just not for me?

Hades is my game of the year hands down. Already sunk 100 hours into it. The gameplay loop is excellent, it's a roguelike where you don't mind dying. The story progress when you return to the starting area, you get to keep most of the resources you accumulated and use them to unlock weapons, boost your attributes, unlock cosmetic improvements to the house of Hades. The gameplay is fast, precise, there's a great deal of customization that goes into each run. At first, you're just randomly picking doors but as you learn and as get certain upgrades you can really direct what kind of build you're going for. It makes the "one more run" part of it really addictive. If you've got other questions about it, fire away.
