Nice. Still have yet to buy the buy/play the game. But from what I've seen/read well deserved.

Thats great, I really like this game, its always good news when a quality new IP achieves this.

With price cuts and christmas yet to arrive I'm expecting this will do 10m lifetime which is huge

Congrats, it is truly a great game, deserved the sales and more. Let's see the improved patch for PS5 keeping sales and perhaps they repacking a selling it as GOTY version for PS5 at discount helping it cross 10M.On the japanese voice over, I used it and loved, didn't paid attention to the lip sync.

Well they definitely got my money, and this was my first big game purchase in a year. I purchased and played two hours of the game about a month ago and I never went back to it. I'm sure the gameplay gets better but the early story was so fucking stupid that I had no interest in continuing.

Spoiler!

Yeah... that was enough for me to stop playing.

That isn't what really happened, but won't correct to give spoils.

And 51 million for the god of war franchise (God of War 2018 close to 20 million copies sold).

Wait, what? God of War 2018 is almost at 20m?! That's insane if true!

Thats what their saying on neogaf.
To be fair, God of War is like a "must own" title on PS4.
Its like haveing a Switch and not haveing mario Oddessey.

Link so I can create the thread, or you can make it. It deserves celebration.

The New York Times ( https://www.nytimes.com/2020/11/11/technology/sony-playstation-5-ps5.html ) reveals that the God Of War franchise has exceeded 51 million copies sold in the world since its debut on PlayStation 2.

Sales of the series reached 22 million copies before the release of God Of War Ascension and 29 million just before the release of the PS4 opus.

In May 2019, the game had sold more than 11 million copies in just one year.

It is easy to estimate that Santa Monica Studio's latest release must be fairly close to the 20 million copies sold since its launch.
