Lol you likely to get games from Xbox more often then not. One word: Wii60. I still remember the days of the great alliance between Nintendo and Xbox fans uniting against a common enemy ;)

Welp, I guess that just decided which system I’m getting first, if I get one. Wasn’t feeling either really, but fable and oblivion’s game looked appealing, throw in some elder scrolls and ya got me.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.
| Intrinsic said: Indulge me... If the game is available steam. For $60. And the same game is available on gamepas, same day and date, and you can download it, "just as you could with steam" and play it. What would you do? Play for $60? or play for $10? |
Why not suggest in an all streaming future?, because I know realistically, that's where we're headed.
I'd still buy on Steam or GoG at the end of the day.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
I’m mindfucked. I don’t know what to do.
HOLY SHIT!
Just heard the news now. Wow... came outta nowhere
Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).
| sales2099 said: You made sense until you said that. This will make things even overall. Mainland Europe and Asia will always be PlayStation land. Doesn’t matter what Xbox does, you can have a hollowed out PS5 console with newspapers inside. It doesn’t play games. It’s just a empty casing that only looks like the PS5....and it will still sell more then Xbox lol. That’s how powerful the brand is. So here’s the question, where you wanna live on the planet? North and South America will be Xbox land. UK, Australia, Russia. If you want to have that warm and fuzzy feeling of living in a country dominated by PlayStation, maybe think about moving to the appropriate country, get that dual citizenship application going ;) But seriously, you may think this will lead to Xbox taking it all but that’s not gonna happen. Globally speaking, it will lead to a balance. |
This is a simple numbers thing.
The one thing that you just consider, is that if given choice everyone will opt to pay less for the same thing than more for it.
There is no balance here.
MS is not going to come out and say, "hey look games fromallthese studios are now only exclusive to xbox and gamepass". No. They would instead make these games available on Steam, Playstation, Xbox and most importantly, gamepass. I a game is available everywhere on the same day and date its available on gamepass, anyone thathas access to gameass, be it PC or Xbox gamers, will opt to play it from there instead, simply because its cheaper.
And in time, gamepas subs will grow because of it. But then what happenswhen it stagnates? You think MS would have invented billions in that just to let it fizzleout? No, they would do what any company would do, securemore content for the service.
Remeber how I said Gamepass would cost MS billions to secure day 1 releases from thrid parties? I even mentioned the likes of the elder scrolls in my post. Isn't that exactly what this is? MS has spent billions to secure IPs for gamepass. And they are not going to stop here. Want to have a foothold in japan? Buy square-enix. Either way, this will not be the last publisher MS aquires, just remember I said that.
Sowhathappens when enough publishers and their games are under the Xbox banner? The plantation becomes strictly for PS exclusive console, and sony in turn tries to bolster their own exclusive IPs.
You ay balane.. I think people have no idea howmuch the scales has tipped. Never in the history of gaming has a platformholder bought off a publisher like this. Never.

They've already tried this before with their own games and that hasn't worked. I just don't see them trying once more to pull another fuck over move and force everyone to use their already crappy storefront on PC. Like you can force your Xbox gamers to do whatever tune you jam out with, but PC for the longest time has done it's own thing whenever it wants to. I'm a fan of ES and Fallout and yeah, I'd stop buying, because I'm not going to just "give in" like some spineless normie. If they stop selling those games on Steam/GoG, I'll just buy from someone else instead, it's that simple. Consoles take 30% as well as other storefronts. Also, MS isn't likely to give up Steam for a chance at trying to force people to using a storefront that not many like using in the first place. I don't see it happening, I'm sorry. Much as you want to harp on about the 30% (known only after Timmy boy harped on about it, thus random folk are now doing the same), Steam is still going to be around and is still going to see big games sold on it. |
I disagree with you, respect your point of view and also say that I would rather be wrong ... I dare even say that I praise your attitude of not allowing yourself to be forced to buy at the windows store.
That said, I reinforce my point ... They have the power to put Elder scroll as exclusive for Windows store, if they do that many will complain, but in the end most will buy it anyway ...
The 30% extra profit will be very welcome and the windows store will gain greater visibility, possibly becoming more popular for some.

whereas im a total pleb and claim each free game from the epic game store on my burner email:D

I have a gaming PC, and I have a Playstation.
If the next elder scrolls is coming out on gamepass day 1? Be rest assured that where I am playing it. Can't for the wife of me understand what gain there is in me paying $60 for a name I will download on steam vs paying $10 for a game will download from gamepass.
And why talkabout streaming, that is ntwhere we are yet and has nothing to do with the options available now.
