Forums - Gaming Discussion - Immortals: Fenyx Rising apparentled leaked as coming December 3rd, screens and details

It looks neat, but you lost me at Ubisoft. I wonder how they'll try to screw the game's customers? A purposefully brutal grind you can buy your way out of? Uplay account mandatory? Made by sex monsters? I'm with you on the name @twintail.

Ubisoft stopped doing that stuff a few years ago.  The last two Ass Creed games, for example, have among the least intrusive monetization schemes of any AAA games in recent memory.

Apparently Gods and Monsters was too easy to remember...

I'm a big fan of art style so this definitely catches my eye.

Whaa reallllly? Are you pulling my leg sir?

I threw the "Uplay account mandatory" thing in there because as far as I know, it is always required for any online play with Ubisoft games. Now, this won't apply to Immortals, but I think on Steam, Ubisoft is even more oppressive in regards to Uplay implementation than it is on consoles, where you need an account for any game, regardless if it has an online component or not. Could be wrong on that, but the point is, Uplay is absolute trash, and only benefits Ubisoft and the ghouls they sell the player's information to, and not the player.

As for AC...I did a quick look at Odyssey. 7 different pages of microtransactions, ( skins, weapons, maps, ships, mounts, ect ) one of which is a page dedicated to the "time saving" microtransactions I mentioned, that the player can buy to fix the intentionally bad grind. Tacky DLC cross-promotion with Totino's Pizza Rolls. I think SIX different special editions. This is among the least intrusive monetization scheme of any AAA game in recent memory? It was worse than this? Yikes. Just greedy. Terrible. Also, choice use of the word "scheme".

I'll just drop this here in case you or anyone else is interested. I got some of the info from the second paragraph of this post from this video, as well as the following, which would be an awesome pull-quote to slap on a custom-made case for the game: "A Jaw Dropping Display Of Avarice" - Jim Sterling

I really hope the December 3rd release date is real and doesn't get delayed; if it turns out to be good, it'd be nice to finish a difficult year on a positive note.

Also, I was trying to think of the last time I played a new Ubisoft game, until I realized it was Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle in 2017, lulz.

UPlay is definitely annoying, though I just created an account with fake info to get around that.

While there certainly are ways to spend money in Ass Creed, the reality is that they are not presented to you in-game *at all*.  You must deliberately navigate to the "page" to engage in microtransactions.  There are no "req packs", drops that force you to go to the mtx vendor, or anything else like that.  I never once even noticed the stuff in either game until I went out of my way to find the mtx store (out of curiosity).
