I don't think anyone is buying a 3080 for 8k gaming.

8k resolution in the context of a monitor on a desk is stupid anyway. You're at maximum eye resolve at that size and distance. Plus no 10GB Vram card is being aimed at 8k. It's just for better performing 4k.

4000 series Nvidia might try to advertise 8k but really it's for high refresh rate 4k with a lot of extra post processing.

Officially no longer amazing.

Still in line with what digital foundry showed. Just that in comparison with the 2080s and 2080ti it looks less impressive. This still falls in line with the leaks that came out months ago.

2070s is only very slightly slower than a 2080 but still.

Going from 59(lets say 62 for midpoint) fps to 97 fps or going from 61(66) fps to 103 fps is huge.

The difference of a possibly inconsistent 60fps to high refresh rate gaming and 60fps in the absolute most demanding titles of the next few years.

Those numbers are impressive? And is pretty much in line with what they said about the 4k performance between the 3080 and the 2080(2070s).

I love how 5 games benchmarked by DF isn't official but 2 games benchmarked is official?

These are leaks from a reviewer, the gains are shit. People who sold their 2080 ti are dumb and got hyped into the Nvidia crap, they are notorious for it. People just do not learn

It truly can pull ahead more in the future when RT becomes more demanding. As of now most games use simple RT because the hardware was just not there. Im sure by next year the 20 series will show their age.

Not sure how people who sold their 2080 Ti's are dumb as a $700 GPU is at least 25% faster in 4k than their $1200 GPU and that's before ray tracing and tensor core improvements come into play. If you are looking at those Far Cry New Dawn numbers at 1080p/1440p, it's clear that there is a bottleneck in the system somewhere else as it doesn't make any sense for a 2080 Super to be 1% slower than a 2080 Ti as an example.

There have also been other leaks that showed off even more impressive gains at 4k with video evidence.

The point at the end of the day though is... To wait for actual reviews as no one has any idea which ones are legit.

People sold their $1200 card because a $499 outperforms it.

These numbers literally reflect the numbers nvidia showed with their benchmarks. I don't know what you expected? We're seeing significant gains over the 2080. I do enjoy that 5 games that don't reflect your bias = irrelevant. And 2 games that do (even though they don't) are seen as "official".

And if you sell at the right time you might break even and essentially get a free upgrade.

Before the Crypto Boom I had 2x Radeon RX 580's which I picked up for $350 AUD each.... And sold one for $800 AUD during the Crypto craze, it's all about the timing.

--::{PC Gaming Master Race}::--

My point was the gap between the cards wasn't worth selling and then paying an additional extra for a new one. I'm certainly not the only one making this point, but people gotta do what they gotta do I suppose. Looking forward to reviews which Nvidia have postponed to the 16th, have a feeling pre-order will happen before.
