Forums - Nintendo - Update: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Switch placeholder has now been pulled from Amazon UK.

I also wasn't a fan of The Imprisoned. For one I didn't like it as a boss fight. Its mechanics are just awkward.

The fact that you have to fight it three times doesn't help obviously, if it was a fun fight like Phantom Ganon, Stallord or Goht or even this game's own Koloktos for example it would be much better, but right now it's actually the sole reason why I never played Skyward Sword more than about one-and-three-quarters times, with little incentive to actually continue or restart again. I stopped my second play through right before the third fight if I remember correctly. Which is sad because the end-game is actually good, with the Sky Keep as its highlight. Meanwhile I played every other (console) Zelda, besides Breath of the Wild because it's so huge, multiple times, and could start them over again any time. Even The Wind Waker, which I'd count as my least favorite of the 3D Zelda's I played through like 4 times.

The Temple of the Ocean King I was pretty indifferent about, though I recognized the Spirit Tower in Spirit Tracks to be a vast improvement. Phantom Hourglass is however pretty unmemorable across the board. I also only played through that game only once, but that wasn't due to the Temple of the Ocean King itself, in the case of that game it's because I don't really think about replaying it because I can't really remember what was fun about the game as a whole. Contrary to Spirit Tracks which was way better and I did replay several times. Phantom Hourglass was forgettable, and Skyward Sword much better, but I'd rather have a Temple of the Ocean King than an Imprisoned.

I don't think I have a single game that I would rate below an 8/10.

Kinda taken aback by all the people saying SS is absolute garbage. It's a good game, just a bad Zelda game. It still sits in my collection, and I don't think I have a single game that I would rate below an 8/10.

Kinda taken aback by all the people saying a game titled The Legend of Zelda, that isn't a good Legend of Zelda game, are calling the Legend of Zelda game a bad game.

A bad Zelda game is still better than a lot of other games though. Something can be bad for it's category (Zelda games), and still be better than things not in it's category (non-Zelda games).

Oh that's explain

Well, a better Zelda game was released in 2010 on 360 and PS3 (Darksiders)and another better Zelda game released in 2010 just on PS3. 3D Dot Game Heroes. A year before SS. Hell TP was not the best Zelda game released in 2006. Okami. That happened on PS2. I honestly feel BOTW is the first Zelda since WW to be the best Zelda in its timeframe on a console. I get why SS was made. Series was too formulaic and maybe they felt they could not implement a big world they imagined with Wii hardware. Xenoblade showed them they could but it was too late by that point. So they had Monolith help them with BOTW world design. If people like SS. That's fine. With Wii, they probably felt they had 2 choices. The same type of world over again like TP or OoT. Or WW but in the sky and probably felt both would be not doing enough new ideas. SS was an experiment due to limitations. Monolith showed them they could do something else and thus BOTW on Wii U/Switch.

SS and LBW show they wanted to do something else but the hardware kept them shackled. Every series has a black sheep. Zelda is old enough to have more than a few.  Xenoblade has one already in just 3 games. (unless you count Torna as it's own game)

Zelda has 0 black sheep...okay maybe the CDI games.   Darksiders was okay, I played a few hours of it.  3D Dot game heroes was an excellent game and I enjoyed every minute of it, but every console Zelda game except SS is better than it.  Okami is fine, but overrated TP is so much better imo.

He's only wrong on one level - that is, saying Okami is only "fine" and worse than Twilight Princess.

Everything else is a perfectly valid opinion.

I'll have to give Okami another try at some point.  Played it on the Wii and it didn't grip me enough to play through the first part of the game.

I bought Okami twice and still haven't played it. I want to like it, but the intro at least is pretty dull.

I was hoping for this about a year and a half ago until we got all of the non-stop ports. At this point, anything earlier than the Wii U needs to be part of a collection. Or, better yet, included as an enhancement to the stagnating "Nintendo Switch Online" offerings.

New games, please.

It was understandable for a while, but this is just milking the fairweather fans at the expense of the diehards.

So much hate for Skyward Sword. I did a review of the game back in the day ( https://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread/142643/truckosauruss-outdated-reviews-legend-of-zelda-skyward-sword/ ) and still stand by it. It's a great game that is brought down by some easy to fix issues (the constant messages, slow flying, no warp points, controls de-sync for the bow). My guess is that a remaster/remake/re-whatever would most probably fix those issues and make the game excellent.
