The original vainilla version is already amazing and packed full of content, it clocks around 200 hours to do everything. If anyone really wants to play the game and finds it cheap, they should just go for it. I love this game, its a masterpiece.

I guess I need to decide how important portability is. I originally held out for the Switch version but haven't bought it yet because Square and Nintendo means the game will remain expensive forever.

With Switch, there's portability. With PC, there's the inevitable mods which will bring it back to the original graphics. Decisions.

Laptops exist...

I'd love to see you playing on a laptop while walking your dog

Nice. Though it's not a Definitive Edition if they don't change Martina's name back from Jade. =/

And that's weird. The way they're wording it, it does sound like it's going to look worse than the original PS4 version.
What could they have changed for the Switch version that they can't just reuse the original vanilla assets for?

Yeah, it's going to look worse than the base PS4 version. I don't know how SE built DQXI: S but by the looks of it, it seems that it would be too time consuming to use the PS4 assets...which is strange.

If you can view this...the first image is the original PS4, the second is the new Steam, (Assuming PS4 as well) and Xbox screens... Yikes.

Bamco's shitty PC ports still sell rather well on Steam, which blows my mind, because it just shows that a segment on Steam are die hard weebs, without any sort standards code. This will likely sell well on it too, despite it's high price and inferior visuals.

Just means I'll have to stop buying SE based games, because I'm getting fed up with how they treat PC. Wasn't exactly happy with their Chrono trigger, FFXV and Deus Ex MKD PC ports either.

We have very different ideas of what portable gaming is.
