Please do.

you would love that don't you? make it a sony vs ms debate eh?
only increasing the shitstirring instead of stopping the trolling with my post?
gj approving this guy inferring sales2099 is sucking MS dick
anyway im not falling for your additional bait... whether or not you dont see how everyone is falling for the same thing just like that killzone trailer
Regarding the Halo demo the things that needed to be perfect were: weapons, sounds, movements, solid FPS, gameplay
updating the actual world is easily done just look at the UE5 trailer and look at how many people worked on that and on what timeframe :)

| CGI-Quality said: Two things wrong with bringing up the Killzone trailer. A. ONE executive tried to pass it off as gameplay (Sony themselves never said it was). B. When the true game was shown, people were still impressed (very, in fact). C. The final game not only looked better, but some things about it actually cleared the original prerendered target. This is, for all intents an purposes, not a slight to Halo at all, which leads me to my next point... Being that this was unnecessary to begin with, please stay the course people. No need to derail the thread and "take bait". Nothing wrong with ciomparing like-for-like situations, but don't try to "get" someone by just picking to pick. |
nvm usual shit being usual
i will thank you personally for driving the xbox community purely in the xbox thread

Wait a minute. How am I bating if you made the comment that would stir shit up? The worst you could acuse me is encourage you to continue so you would be bating.
And I disagree. This was the game to sell you the new console and they marketed as such. It needed to be everything they promised and it includes graphics.

Its weird that you still don't see the downsides of GP after that Halo reveal. I hope you now at least realize that scalable graphics don't really work as Phil Spencer made it out to be. Like I been saying for months. GP is great and offers amazing value, but there are some major drawbacks when it comes at the expense of supporting and selling their next gen console. For the second time we've now seen that it'll be hard to really take full advantage of the Series X hardware. But more importantly, GP probably wouldn't work with high budget AAA games that typically take 3 to 5 years to make. The GP business model strives on A/AA titles and a quantity over quality approach. Games that bombed, both in critical acclaim and at at retail, are now valuable GP filler for MS and they need a lot of them to keep people subscribed. The truth is that from half the games you mentioned, we have no idea what they are and when they will be coming out. It could be 4 years from now before we see Fable or Avowed, and even then we have no idea if they will be Skyrim/ Witcher beaters, or if they will end up on Ms's vast list of 60 Metacritic exclusives. Look, of course you want to see AAA exclusives on your platform of choice, we all do. But just like with Kinect, MS's corporate strategy will again directly influence what kind of games we'll see rolling out of those 14 studios. They turned Halo into a GAAS title FFS, Everwild is supposed to fairy tale version of Sea of Thieves, and I'm willing to bet Fable and Avowed eventually show up as MMO's. Those are the kind of games MS needs to keep GP users engaged and subscribed to their service, not the AAA blockbusters Sony has, that come out once every 3 years.

Xbox changed their stance apparently...most game reveals we saw don’t have a Xbox One version. Your narrative is a bust, the cross gen initiative just applies to Halo and the smaller stuff like Grounded and Psychonauts, Tell Me Why, etc. Big games aren’t affected. Not even Everwild has a Xbox One version anymore.
Game Pass needs a mix of A-AAA. Games from Ori, Grounded, to Hellblade 2 and Avowed. AAA games drive the service like Gears 5 and Forza Horizon 4 before. A-AA is to pad out the year and keep people invested in interesting experiences. If you respond and tell me Avowed and Fable aren’t going to be AAA then that’s straight up trolling. Even Hellblade 2 and SoD3 is supposed to be AAA.
I keep saying it here, but you telling me some games are a ways away just tells me Xbox is done with game droughts. They have enough studios to ensure that doesn’t happen. Don’t spread false rumors, Fable is confirmed to not be a MMO.

Correlation != causation. I'm sure 343 have any $ of budget they need for Halo and GP had nothing to do with how it looked during the reveal.
GP probably wouldn't work with high budget AAA games that typically take 3 to 5 years to make : Well many games were announced that are without a doubt AAA and are coming to GP day one.
The GP business model strives on A/AA titles and a quantity over quality approach : there's nothing in GP business model that prevent it from financing many AAA project. The only thig they need is mass adoption. right now they have 10M subscribers which should bring a little more than 1B$/year in revenue.
But just like with Kinect, MS's corporate strategy will again directly influence what kind of games we'll see rolling out of those 14 studios: Microsoft themselves have recognized that this approach was a mistake. They said they now give freedom to their studio to bring their games with their visions and that Microsoft will be providing them with support and budget they need. Some devs have actualy come forward and acknowledged this to be the case ( Obsidian & InXile , Compulsion Games)
Everwild is supposed to fairy tale version of Sea of Thieves: There's nothing certain with Everwild, even Rare have stated they're to early in development to be certain of the gameplay. This is actualy another exemple of Microsoft giving way more freedom then before to their studios. Not certain many publishers would finnance AAA game with no gameplay stamped.
and I'm willing to bet Fable and Avowed eventually show up as MMO's: isn't it somewhat what they were trying to to with fable legends and the project got canned. Fable will most likely be mostly a single player experience. As for Avowed, you would think that if they were aiming for MMO the final section of the trailer would have shown more then a single dude. But who knows maybe it will be.

You can not be that naive, it's embarrassing how you're willing to bend over for MS. Are you a new gamer or something? Has Xbox-exclusive output been so dry that you forgot how games should look like when they're revealed? Games like Horizon, God of War, FF7R, Ghost, TLOU2 and Uncharted 4 were revealed YEARS before they were actually released and they managed to impress despite being early builds. Not to mention, E3 was to take place about a month ago, so your (or Phil's) excuse is laughable, especially that the event timing was chosen by MS, no one imposed it on them, so they had all the time in the world to capture the best footage they could and make a good second impression, especially after their May event disappointed everyone. It's funny how Spider-man: MM, which is labelled as an expansion by you, managed to look 1000x times better than Xbox's biggest flagship: |
Always nice to see implied posts that I like being sexually assaulted, or I am a lesser gamer because I like a different platform, and generally being smug/condescending when I tried to be respectful. (Chefs kiss) Always enjoy talking to PS fans.
For the record I too was critical of the graphics but personally I’m just glad they nailed the art style, music and gameplay. Hoping they can do what they can with the lighting and textures but at least it won’t be a downgrade situation like other games in the past.

If Rare doesn't even know what the gameplay of Everwild is going to be yet then WTF was the point of showing it? For art style? Big whoop. If there is no gameplay then I don't care as a person watching and potential customer. Gameplay trailers only. Man what a concept. Showing gameplay for a video game. You can show all the CGI or art concept videos all you want but if no gameplay then what is the point?
I wish Nintendo, MS ad Sony would stop showing a pre-rendered trailer for a game that is years away. Don't show us until about a year from launch. Otherwise, it just causes frustration when there is no news. SMTV was debated as vaporware until a week ago and Bayonetta 3 is nowhere to be seen for 3 years. Nintendo mentioned it once a year and a half ago and so quickly it was a fart in the wind. DMCV was the perfect reveal. 2018 E3. We get a trailer of Nero in a new art style. Fans wonder where is Dante? THERE HE IS! End of the trailer. Full of DMC gameplay and story. We only had to wait until March of the next year with a couple new trailers in between and news info. The proper way to announce and hype up a game and one long wanted.

IF people actually cared about GamePass for Xbox, the Xbox One would be selling FAR better than it is. I'm not saying it's not a good deal - it totally is - but being on GamePass isn't really a selling point if we're being honest. Especially not when you can get it on PC. I still would only play a handful of their games, but it'd be a win for everyone. as it stands, even you don't seem to think there's any value in the actual Xbox, it's all about Gamepass to you. |
Your description of the games doesn’t change what I said. The narrative is temporary. Gameplay is inevitable. Marketing and Game Pass will almost always guarantee a audience for them. Xbox having 15 officially confirmed 1st party games is unprecedented. Even if you don’t know much about many of them this is uncharted waters. No more over relying on the “trinity”. No more game droughts. You have to at least acknowledge that.
Your FF7 comment is tone deaf. I see fans brag about that all the time. Here, Twitter, it’s a feather on the cap. A 3rd party timed exclusive. So why can’t we talk about games like Stalker 2 and Medium? Same goes for Horizon going to Pc. I don’t know where you hanging out online but PS fans largely hate that. PS is all about exclusives being locked to one platform. True exclusives, that’s literally your culture that is thrown in Xbox’s face daily. Of course it makes sense to expand their portfolio, but don’t pretend it’s not divisive among fans.
You seem like a traditional gamer, and that’s fine. But at least put yourself in the shoes of gamers that play a ton of games every year regarding GP. It truly is a system seller in its own right for what it does.
“even you don't seem to think there's any value in the actual Xbox, it's all about Gamepass to you.”. Well considering GP is exclusive to the Xbox brand, and I don’t have a gaming PC, it seems Xbox consoles are the way to go for me. The only place I can play Halo or Hellblade or Avowed is Xbox consoles. Because this may shock you....dozens of millions of gamers don’t care about gaming on PC. They want the cost effective convenience of a gaming console. And GP allows me to play a ton of games both 1st and 3rd, because saving money actually matters to most people. Knowing I will most certainly pay more $$$ if I went the PS route, logically Xbox is my console of choice.
You have a problem empathizing how people could like what you don’t. Please try.
