I mean i'm sure it's normal for the PS4 to be low in stock since Sony are transitioning into a new generation and i'm sure they don't want the PS4 to outsell the PS5 which is releasing in only a couple of months, they can't ship like millions now.

I'm sorry but that's it? I was sure it would be above Switch this week.

Maybe being 7yrs old and  PS5 having been revealed has something to do with it.

The Switch will cross 10 million units with the next update, and we’re only halfway through the year. Really makes me wonder where it will be come holiday season and where it’s final yearly total will be.

Kind of expected higher PS4 numbers to be honest, this being one of it's biggest games ever.

I mean I know it's over 6 years old and due for replacement in November, but still.

Pretty crazy PS4's still getting boosts 6.5 years into its lifecycle.

Also, will this be the Switch's peak year?

About where I expected, chances are if you're playing TLOU2 you've played TLOU, which while it did come out on the PS3 first, many people would've bought a remastered (or second release version?) on the PS4 earlier in it's lifespan. In comparison to FF7R, you have the possibility of some people switching consoles as FF15 came out on PS4 X1 and PC, whereas FF7R only came out on PS4, which allowed it to draw in that crowd.

I reckon PS4 numbers are undertracked quite a bit since the limited edition console released on June 19th, but it’s still supply constrained.

Here in Australia Ps4 pro will be in stock in July alongside PS4 slim 1tb, there is small stock of the 500gb version tho.

But for now, excellent numbers considering its still $299/399 with the replacement launching on November this year.

As an example, the week TLOU released, PS3 did 105k with a price tag of $269/299.

PS4 has sold far above expectations this year. Already 5.6m sold-through in 2020. Some people thought it wouldn't surpass the PS3's 2013, which at this point was only at 3.6m.

Could be at 117-118m sold-through by the end of the year.

Probably will overtake the gameboy and become the 3rd best selling console of all time in the first couple of months next year.

Fastest selling PS exclusive, at 4M on the first week. I believe it probably pushed more HW than what was tracked.
