Forums - Gaming Discussion - Console gaming belongs to the entertainment industry not the tech industry and Nintendo has won.

The Wii-U was a shit attempt at a Switch.

Nintendo was right to be scared of merging HH and home because of what it could potentially cost them.

They bravely took the decision to make a hybrid before anyone else could despite the potential negatives it would have had to their own business model.

A move very few companies have had the balls to make ie Kodak-digital photography, Sony-MP3s.

Right so tech does matter cause if it didn't, Nintendo's content would have still carried the wiiU to success?

WiiU was a shit hybrid.

Switch isn't a hybrid. It's A or B. Nintendo could have made a hybrid from day dot. Their business model told them not to combine HH/Home. They ignored their business model and reaped the rewards. Sony could have stayed the music King but they bottled it.

Eventually tech doesn't matter. When that happens, content is King.

Sony/MS haven't remotely come close to challenging Nintendo in their IPs. If they had, I wouldn't have made this thread.

MS/Sony content is an add-on to their hardware.

For Nintendo, it's their reason for existing.

This isn't a dig at Sony/MS just a general tend.

Cash is going to go to where it belongs, the content not hardware maker.

They are no different they make hardware to sell software, if selling hardware is their main game why doe their profits come from software '

Where was that cash during the Wii U's tenure , why is MS putting games on PC if it's main purpose is hardware? why do all 3 make little if any profit from hardware and when they do it's usually late in the cycle  this topic has no basis in reality.

MS has seen what's coming and have manoevered themselves into attempting to be the gaming Netflix.

They'll do well but 'content is King' and just how Disney will be able to swallow up Netflix, nintendo will swallow up MS (gaming).

Gamers should be happy. Why don't you want Nintendo running the industry they deserve to own instead of some no talent conglomerate?

Yet sonys won more game of the year awards in the last decade.

Sony can buy all the Goats they want. Lesbian kisses don't win console wars. Tekkens and Crashes do.

You really did not think this through. If content is king in the context of the entertainment industry than Sony far surpasses Nintendo. Sony is one of the Top 3 Music Companies, Top 5 Movie Studios, and has a very profitable TV content division. This is all in addition to their games. The sheer amount of content and IP in Sony's portfolio is staggering.

Please explain how music, movies, and television don't count as "entertainment" even though you said gaming belongs to the entertainment industry?

You're not serious.

OK, Sony is great at music and film. As true as that may be, they don't come close to Nintendo and until someone makes the 'one ring to rule them all' device that includes Nintendo games, they aren't gonna win.

I was going to debate with you ,but your last sentence says it all, this is just someone's one eyed cheerleading that no amount of rational will change.

So why doesn't Nintendo simply become a 3rd party developer, releasing their software on everything that can run it, which should be just about everything :)

Nintendo is the only company I've ever hated. I'm no Nintendo cheerleader.

Why should they when they can do it from their own platform like Disney did after their 3rd party tryout?

Tech evolves, content is king.
