Forums - Gaming Discussion - How many PS5 games shown were 'Exclusive'?

For the purposes of this thread I will be using 'Console Exclusive' as the definition of Exclusive here. This is not my opinion but it makes sense for this case otherwise XSX's exclusive number would be 0.

Anyway I saw this tweet

His use of etc made me wonder how many titles shown are actually 'exclusive'

So let's take a look.

Exclusive:

Astro's playroom
Demon'sSouls
Destruction All stars
Gran Turismo 7
Horizon: Forbidden West
Spiderman Miles Morales
Ratchet and Clank
Sackboy Big Adventure
Bugsnax
Godfall
Returnal
Goodbye Volcano High
Jett: The Far Shore
Kena
Project Athia
Oddworld: Soulstorm
Little Devil Inside
GhostWire: Tokyo
Deathloop
Stray

Non-Exclusive:

GTA V
Hitman 3
ResidentEvil 8
NBA 2K
Pragmatica
Solar Ash

Let me know if any of these are wrong but as far as I've looked up on this seems to be accurate.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

Around the Network

Only the games developed by Sony and perhaps the ones published like Housemarque.
The rest expect to be timed exclusives. I think almost all of them have it informed on the full trailer.

Every title I've found has been confirmed to be PS5 or PS5/PS4 or PS5/PS4/PC.

No mention of timed exclusivity in the games I listed as exclusive that I can find, but given the time sensitive nature of console launches particularly. TImed exclusivity would count given that by the time is up both console will have plenty of games in their library and it wouldn't make much of a difference after that point.

Exclusive:

Astro's playroom (1st party so no question)
Demon'sSouls (Bluepoint making the remaster so PS5 only and Sony probably have the IP of the original)
Destruction All stars (from the trailer yes it seems PS5 exclusive)
Gran Turismo 7 (1st party so no question)
Horizon: Forbidden West (1st party so no question)
Spiderman Miles Morales (1st party so no question)
Ratchet and Clank (1st party so no question)
Sackboy Big Adventure (Sony IP so no question)
Bugsnax (trailer say console exclusive limited time, probably epic store limited time as well)
Godfall (trailer say console exclusive limited time)
Returnal (PS exclusive, possibly Sony own the IP since it is housemarque)
Goodbye Volcano High (trailer say console exclusive limited time)
Jett: The Far Shore (trailer say console exclusive limited time)
Kena (trailer say console exclusive limited time)
Project Athia (trailer say console exclusive limited time)
Oddworld: Soulstorm (trailer say console exclusive limited time)
Little Devil Inside (trailer say console exclusive limited time)
GhostWire: Tokyo (trailer say console exclusive limited time)
Deathloop (trailer say console exclusive limited time)
Stray(trailer say console exclusive limited time)

As I said most are timed. And several are also crossgen

I gone on each trailer and watched the end of all them where it was informed the exclusivity. Basically all the ones that will be on PC are also console time exclusive. Sony titles are Playstation exclusive plus Returnal, Demon`s Souls and Destruction All Stars.

Just call it "not on Xbox". Seeing any of them on the switch would be a surprise. And it's just easier.

Also are you counting "timed" exclusives. I believe I see a tweet suggesting that deathloop was a timed exclusive.

Sounds a bit trolly to just categorise them as 'not on xbox' but we do need a better word for it cause if it's on any other platform it's not exclusive.

Ahh I stand corrected, the youtube trailers show which are timed and which aren't, these weren't shown in the live stream.

But as I mentioned, given this is all being done to influence early adopters, the timed factor does make little difference in the overall point.

I actually think it would be good for Sony to do more real console exclusives / also on PC , in that it gets more PC games that might fully leverage PS controller.
It really has alot of potential, yet ends up ignored, probably in part because industry tends to be US centric and therefore Xbox controller centric by default.
The more devs start to get used to working with PS controller features, the better, and it will become more normal to target that, even for not fully exclusives.
They could also have marketing campaign with official badge of DualShock approved, even emphasizing calling out specific features like Adaptive Triggers, Gyro etc.
Like it's to Sony's benefit if even a PC-only game wants to use those features, because it raises expectations for every game to want to use them.

Greenberg is funny guy.

Is Demon's Souls confirmed a Playstation exclusive? I know it was for PS3 but just wasnt sure now. Either way tho I'm glad we're getting Demon's Souls. I much enjoyed it over any of the other Souls games.
