Not that it is unexpected that Sony after finishing PS5 development is already making their roadmap for PS6 and perhaps a PS5Pro version.

Are you guys going to wait for the Pro? I don't think it is necessary because in the end tech will always improve and holding out forever won't let you enjoy now.

Personally I'm holding out for the Nintendo PlayStation, but that won't come out until 3.5 years after the PlayStation 8. It will be codevelooed by Nintendo and Sony and will be their countermeasure to the Apple/Amazon/Microsoft device called 'Muricanbox. I'll get that device too and I'll still be rocking the PC overlord title well into my mid 50's as well.

Then Ouya 2 will launch when I'm 55 and the whole world will go down the toilet.

old article, he referred to PS4. With the silicon price getting more and more expensive I bet we will not see another mid gen upgrade down the line. Especially the price of both PS5/Xbox SX are very expensive when it launch compared to PS4 and Xbox One launch price. 

Another reason for PS4 pro/Xbox One X (mid generation upgrade)  because industry were hyping 4k TV.

May be they should announce the PS5 first....? Weirdass gen, June and still no announcement.

PS5 Pro will be another 3-4 years away. Ain't nobody got time for that.

PS4 Pro was just scratching the surface. We will see multiple PS5 variations throughout its life cycle.

With game development in general taking 3 to 5 years and also that it take some iterations to make better use of the HW having a cycle of 4 years wouldn't be good imho.
