Switch with another 300k+!!!

Pocky Lover Boy!

I know this has happened for several weeks now, but I still find it unreal that Asia is Switch's best region, considering that Asian sales are mostly from Japan.  Meanwhile, no one told Europe that PS4 is an old system about to be replaced.

We have many reports of all three consoles selling out in the US and PS4 and Switch selling out in Japan. And I am sure supplies are limited in Europe as well. It is making it a lot tougher to track hardware sales. I am making adjustments as we get new information.

Yeah I don't envy you right now.  I'm sure all off this craziness is pretty hard to track.

This is how does look the stock in transit for the Switch with every last refreshed values of VGC :

I really wonder how much covid-19 is bumping gaming sales up. And if it keeps going like this I'm really curious what November-December is going to look like!

Note: I did some adjustments for the month of May as we get some information, thanks to analyst Benji-Sales on Twitter. Most of the adjustments were done in North America. All three consoles were adjusted down. Though, still up year-over-year in North America, but not by as much.

Adjusted worldwide figures:

Week Ending 3DS PS4 XOne NS
2-May-20 10,741 266,497 102,602 416,662
9-May-20 9,203 230,140 83,468 339,651
16-May-20 7,331 206,575 68,252 363,459
23-May-20 7,885 189,185 63,000 265,438
30-May-20 6,744 188,122 59,590 317,491

Unless I am mistaken, I see the following US numbers in the Hardware by Date:

W-E Mo NSW
3/7/20 MAR  97,298
3/14/20 MAR  161,539
3/21/20 MAR  329,149
3/28/20 MAR  254,570
4/4/20 MAR  175,718
4/11/20 APR  197,683
4/18/20 APR  209,824
4/25/20 APR  201,098
5/2/20 APR  140,158
5/9/20 MAY  112,212
5/16/20 MAY    87,252
5/23/20 MAY    73,258
5/30/20 MAY    75,284

Which yields:

MAR 1,018,274

APR 748,763

MAY 348,006

Going by NPD, March seems fine, but April seems out of line - was it adjusted today as well, or was it never trued-up to the NPD 808,000 figure?

Expected, Switch will be below 300k next week and PS4 will remain below 200k for the next couple of weeks until the release of the last of us part II

PS4 Slim/Pro is out of stock here in Australia, but you still can find Plenty of Switch lite in most retailers. OG Switch is out of stock tho.
The same trend seems to happens in USA, Japan and other countries.

And with these numbers, PS4 in 2020 is tracking 2.1 million units ahead compared to what the PS3 was doing in the same period of time in 2013.

Switch domination continues in spite of widespread shortages; I wish we could see it how much it'd be selling if you could buy it freely anywhere, instead of a lot of folks having to either wait for restocks or resort to buying from scalpers at way over MSRP.
