A Sega handheld? A really cheap one, like a 100$ handheld that is the spiritual successor of the Gameboy? I don't know, any guess is as good as this :))))

Lets talk about SEGA on a global level. Yakuza is gaining popularity to the point where Yakuza 6 sold on par with Japan. Yakuza 6 has not even sold 1 miliion copies. Persona, which is not even developed by SEGA, is a key IP. Sonic? - Global brand power but quality issues. Bayonetta? - They don't invest in it. All SEGA's classic IP are auctioned out ( Streets of Rage, Panzer Dragoon, ) What IP's are you talking about? |
You know Sega's biggest franchise is Football Manager, right ? You didn't mentioned it.

No they don't. SEGA does not even have a half the star power they did during their prime. They cant even make a above good Sonic game |
They own Atlus.
Persona + Shin megami Tensei (SMT) + Etrian Oddesey + Catherine.
Sega itself..... is basically just Yakuza games atm.
Still they have enough IP, if they wanted to they could make a half decent attempt at a console.

I am aware that they own Atlus. Just pointing out the SEGA's first multi million seller in awhile is not their own creation.
To make a console requires strong global IP's. They can't sell consoles off Persona and whenever decent Sonic game they got in store.

That seems unlikely. FM sells about 1 million a year at most.
The Total War franchise is surely bigger than that.
I'm going to assume it's a Dreamcast Classic Edition until further notice.
Love and tolerate.

That is not revolutionary. NEW technology.

And just in case there's doubts about the lineup, here's what Sega can include from their own library:

that would be a super dissapointment.
If thats the case, then shame on Zenji Nishikawa for reporting it as a "revolutionary scoop".
