Did someone say there's no market for hard games? I'm sure some people have said they'd prefer multiple difficulties, but for the most part it seems like you're tilting at windmills.

Read the thread in my signature.Basically it's that discussion in a nutshell.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Cool, that means they've found an audience

On the other bright side, I'm thankful there are games that allow for optional difficulties and that those games also sell a metric ton more as a result

Diversity is the true winner here, as I have been saying all along! =)

Having options is always a good thing!, even when it's optional difficulty modes.

Just as good when you have easy and hard games!

What Ive seen is that the souls game franchise is hard until you learn the bosses moves...I like to watch that freak on Twitch The Happy Hobb play this series.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

That is a case of having more diversity by taking diversity away =p

Yea, the games (have yet to play DS3) from my experience actually don't take a lot of "skill" to play, just a cool head, patience and willingness to pay attention to the enemies. I have way more trouble with games that demand almost flawless execution/very fast reaction speed/very accurate timing etc.

Just as good when you have easy and hard games!

And Dark Souls already has different kinds of easy modes, summons,OP builds.

You can breeze through those games using those.

Exactly. No need to debuff the enemies with an standard classic mode.
